It’s been almost 2 years now with increased interest rates in United States and Canada (and including a year with many people paying close to 7% interest rates). In 2021, many people were under 2%.
Many people are walking away with $200,000-$500,000 losses on new houses due to the current rate that they didn’t expect when booking the property.
Others that benefited with lower fixed interest rates, are now dealing with renewing their mortgage with the 6%+ interest rate.
