Hello Everybody, long time no post. Unfortunately, this will be the last post I make as "DV Transit Media".

Starting next week this page will be known as the "Kodachrome Transit Museum" and be strictly slides or other artifacts from my transit collection shared every week. I hope to move on to a website soon as well.

Just like how "DV Transit" was inspired by the "Mini DV" tape format, the new name was inspired by the former "Kodachrome" film format which was produced from 1935-2009 which is what most of the slides in my collection were shot on.

I will no longer make content under the "DV Transit Media" brand, all video/photo content will be moved over to "Transit Toronto".

I thank you all for the support for the last few years. It's been great, but I hope to do better with my new project.

Got me a plane ticket so I can travel when this pandemic ends.

This airline still operates right...?

Jokes Aside: This is the newest addition to the DV Transit collection. A ticket from the defunct Jetsgo airlines which operated from 2002-2005.

The end of an era is here.

This Saturday, December 5, 2020. The current Union Station Bus Terminal will close and be replaced with a new facility just south of the tracks at CIBC Square.

GO Bus service started in 1970 and used the Toronto Coach Terminal until the 1990s. It then moved in front of Union Station on Front Street, before getting its own terminal at Union Station in 2003.

Transit Toronto Photographer Damian Baranowski (Me) took some shots on the way home from work of this soon to be gone terminal that serviced many commuters over the years.

Interflug was the flag carrier of the GDR also known as "East Germany", for most of its life it flew Soviet built aircraft, however as other Eastern European Airlines like LOT and Malev acquired western aircraft from Boeing, this paved the way for other Eastern Bloc airlines to get Western planes.

The A310s arrived in June 1989 however their stay was short lived, after the Fall of the Berlin Wall later that year and German Reunification the following year, the airline could not survive and was liquidated in 1991.

Starting off today with a Crossair MD-83 in a McDonalds livery.

Photographer: Unknown
Date: Sometime from 1996-2000.

From what I read about this "McPlane" was that it was painted like this to celebrate McDonalds 80th Birthday and the flights were operated by Swiss tour operator "Hotelplan" who worked with the fast food chain.

Burgers and McNuggets were served on the flights, but you could not have fries with that, as reportedly they could not make them to the McDonalds Standard quality in the cabin.

Starting off the day with something that's not really transit-related, but it is nostalgic.

I always like Famous Players Theaters better than Cineplex or AMC, I used to watch a whole bunch of movies at the Oshawa Centre location before it closed in 2007. The photo down below was taken in November 2015 at the Pickering Town Centre location, which was closed in 2018.

Sadly the only Famous Players left in the GTA is at Yonge and Eglinton above the Eglinton Subway Station, inside of the Canada Square complex. It's mainly a 2nd run theater but I really wish Cineplex would make it more of an independent and arthouse theater, but with the fallout from COVID, I don't know if the theater would even last the next year.

All we can do is hope...
