In case you are wondering what a baby would look like from a choreographic blind date, here it is...

Back at the beginning of July, I got paired up with Jessica, a talented emerging choreographer I had never worked with before, to build a film project for the Festival Quartiers Danses. While getting to know each other, and get familiar with each other's work, we mapped out the pathway for Scintilla, a fun, quirky film that was a hoot to shoot!

Ok. Here it is- episode 5 of Interviews From a Balcony- The Furry Friend Edition. Definitely the hardest one to edit yet. You try getting animal b-roll! And unfortunately no Spanish dogs stopped for this episode. Jaajaaajaaa. By the way, I asked each pet parent to say what they thought their pet would say in an interview.

If I had a pet turtle, maybe it would say, "Oh, finally, everyone is moving at my speed!" I don't know...

Wow, it's really hard to look at this project within the context of what is going on right now. I was already concerned about the crisis of touch then, but now that rift between us is even bigger. I am positive meeting strangers through touch is the last thing anyone wants to do right now. I wonder if I will ever be able to mount this project again? Is this project dead? Or Is there hope? What do you think?

It's funny- I just realized that my Interviews From a Balcony series is kind of like a physical-distanced version of HANDSHACK...
