WITH THE PRESSURE OF THE NEW YEAR…

As I come to be 27 this year, it’s been more apparent the pressure of being successful. With the new year, the weight of being productive and doing better becomes heavier and heavier. The feeling of falling short becomes more apparent and it gets to the point where it becomes overwhelming and exhausting.

I want myself and everyone struggling with pressure, stress and depression to remember that the “new year” doesn’t have to mean “new you” if it means causing you your peace. Work hard and strive to be better because you want to, not because you have to. Go at your own pace and your own time.

A special reminder to myself and to you. 💖

THINGS I LEARNED ABOUT RELEASING PRODUCTS..

1. Releasing products based on what you like isn’t necessarily going to do well! I learned this the hard way. One of those examples is the Mr. Love: Queens Choice acrylic keychains that were the first items I put out when I started. I’m obsessed with this game however I didn’t take into account how small the cesspool of my target was. This was my first mistake.

2. Having a direct community to market your products will help boost your sales. An example of this is Discord. This platform is probably one of the most specific direct communities that you could possibly market to assuming you’ve joined the specific server. I’m part of many official and unofficial groups like Genshin Impact (which is one of my product lines) and it helps to have people who are already interested on the subject!

3. If you missed the “Hype” it will most likely affect your sales. Like any trends, things die down and most likely will the audience interest as well. When the Tokyo Revengers hype started, their interest were at a sky high. A lot of small biz released a lot of TR merch and it did really well. Now that the interest has slowly faded, the sales slowed down as well.

4. Order in small quantities! I can’t stress this out enough.

5. Try posting interest checks! Engaging with your audience and gauging whether there’s positive reaction is a good business model to have.

I hope this helps! These are just things I’ve learned from my experience and I’m still learning on the go.
