How do you know who will become. After all we’re always changing.

For Laura Romano, a rising start flying out of the sky, she never saw herself as a salesperson. Her personality pushed her friends to suggest it, so with enough peer pressure, she jumped. Without a a doubt she’s landed in her environment and couldn’t be happier as her deep dive into social media running .rv.girl is taking off.

Seems to me perhaps her Opa & Oma may have created some inspiration and nurtured her love of the great outdoors … safely, (no tents please 😆) in camper vans and motor homes.

Looking back at the province reopened this past summer #2021 on a visit into vancouver…what pandemic?

Been a while since we’ve posted. For those who’ve followed loyally or just discovered us via some of the crazy of events of 2021 which we’ve briefly covered or the few community focused documentaries we filmed, I wanted to say thank you so much, staying here with us.

We’re really considering what the next steps will be with Findyouinthevalley, late 2020, Findyouinthevalley became findyou.ca and it’s at this point that I feel like we’ve hit a crossroads as to what to make of the magazine - since I split the focus into sections, and - well heck I also had

That just doesn’t help - at least not yet when this adventure is self funded by the marketing work myself and my collaborators. that takes up a lot of time and effort leaving this passion project alone for stretches of time. So it’s time to refocus.

today and this next week as people around the world reset and hand in their time cards for a new year, we’ll be releasing all the videos we’ve left to ripen over the last couple years.

it might not always make sense. Consider it a purge as the magazine shifts into a Documentary film focused magazine - not just for the Fraser Valley, although it will have its focus here, but for the rest of BC, and eventually beyond.

Some of the content supporting local communities in the Fraser Valley will paid short documentaries about local businesses, in an effort to tell a more personal story for these businesses and in turn to fund our self researched, produced and filmed documentaries.
sure maybe an annual magazine - but it will not longer be the priority.

The priority is documentaries and filmed editorial pieces. Spreading from this page and our website outwards.

He along with so many members of the community have gotten involved with sandbagging efforts and relief efforts of all kinds.

The goal of these interviews is simply to capture a local perspective outside the danger zone on how each us has been affected and what we may have learned and are yet to learn.

Empty But Open. This is day one since some businesses have opened up at the base of Whatcom Exit - Sumas Prairie. This Tim Hortons was a refuge for many stranded that first night of the flood, until the boats could rescue them.

It’s doubly hard to comprehend the economic toll this event will have on the entirety of the Fraser Valley, not just from our fellow farmers and home owners but also the many franchise owners and small businesses. Year 3, around the corner.

Today’s Update with Mayor Henry Braun of the City of Abbotsford had some good news and has shown of note recently but not uncommon to him, the deep care Braun has for his city, surely reflected and exemplified in the diligent work by all in the city producing results in the field.

Key takeaways;

1. just before 2:00 a.m., this morning, the floodgates at Barrowtown pump station we're able to partially open and start releasing water from the Sumas River into the Fraser River.

This has lessened the flow of water, breaching the Sumas D**e that has been flooding in the eastern part of Sumas prairie. It is our hope at this point that water levels will continue to decrease in the Sumas river so that the floodgates can remain open and potentially open fully,

2. Canadian Forces military personnel continue to arrive 119 soldiers from the Land Task Force on the ground in Abbotsford supporting supporting the flood mitigation efforts. These troops will also be using helicopters to move people supplies and equipment in the area, and they expect to add more of this type of air support tomorrow.

3. 800 people have checked in, with the reception center supporting the evacuation from Sumas Prairie. At the last update, we had approximately 360 people who have utilized supports through the TradeX emergency support services. We expect more than 50 people will be staying the night tonight
