If I was going to start a business online as a full time teacher (and also live life/raise kids) this is what I’d do first. ↓
1. Comb through the files on my computer and see what resources I’ve already created. (You don’t have to sell these resources but looking back on the things we’ve already created or saved tells us what we are passionate about) Ask myself and my close friends/family what I’m passionate about and what skills I have to serve others.
2. Use Instagram to create content that teach others how to do something. I would add as much value to all of this content as possible. Build a community of like minded followers that trust me.
3. I would use @stanforcreators to post a free digital product for my audience and build an email list while giving away free value and building trust with my audience. (This creates a warm market for your future offers 😉)
Rinse and repeat. You don’t need to rush you just need to be consistent.

My dream had changed.
Time moves way too fast and I was missing so many moments with my kids.
Sure travel and experiences once or twice a year is nice but what about all the stuff in between? I wanted more time freedom.
I decided I wanted to stay at home. But how? I couldn’t give up my income, my family needed it.
I had dabbled for 4 years online. I did MLMs, affiliate marketing, I had an Etsy shop. They were all ok…. But nothing spectacular and I wasn’t truly passionate about any of the things I was selling. I felt called to create my own business. My own products.

Hashtags yes or no…? ⬇️
This is a question I get asked frequently. Do I think using hashtags will make or break a piece of content, no. I have used them and not used them.
However in my opinion (because there are many out there) using hashtags is something you can control on this platform. So why not?
The purpose of hashtags is to help the algorithm categorize your content. This increases the chances your content will be placed infront of the right people.
My formula:
• 2-3 describing the what, what is the topic of the video
• 2-3 targeting the who, who is the video for
• 2-3 describing the transformation, what is the desired result of the advice given.

✨Extra tips:
• add trending audio to your carousel to extend its reach (then it will show up on the explore page and the reels feed)
• keep it simple and concise. Don’t overwhelm or confuse your audience. One problem at a time.
• use as many SEO words as you can.
• keep your caption short and informative. If you’ve said a lot in the post you don’t need to repeat yourself.
• pick a template on Canva and use it for all your carousels just change the colours. Go look at my page for inspiration. This is most efficient and promotes brand recognition.

Tips to make your carousel posts even better:
1. Keep them simple and to the point. There should be a clear theme to your posts. Don’t confuse your audience or overwhelm them with too much info.
2. Add music this will increase the exposure of your carousel. When you add music your carousel will be featured on the explore page as well as the reels feed.
3. Pick a template on canva to quickly pop the info into and use the same template for every post! This is the easiest way to be efficient and create a cohesive brand look.
4. Incorporate as many SEO words into your caption as you can.

I finally bought the microphone about 2 months ago and in that time I just didn’t get around to setting it up/figuring it out. It literally just sat in a box on my desk. In that time I got a new phone. AND GUESS WHAT the tiny microphone is not compatible with my new phone 🫠😂
Moral of the story. F*** trends, stop comparing. Put your blinders on and just be you! You will get there without all that stuff. I’m the proof it works!
But should I order a new tiny microphone and use it? 😂

Building an online business is not easy. Creating a digital product, no problem, teachers can do that all day long. But figuring out all the other stuff:

• marketing & advertising
• writing copy

I have been a content creator for 4.5 years. I also have three young kids and currently work full time (not for long ✌🏻). Creating content while juggling all of that has not been easy.
So I work smarter not harder and repurpose a lot of my content! I really thought it would hinder my growth but it hasn’t! People need to see something more then once to learn from it. We know this from teaching!
