Next stop, Mont Carleton with Nature NB’s
“A walk with Naturalists” audio pod cast recordings.

Last week, a large part of Nature NB's team was on the road to conduct our various programs!
🎙We continued recording the podcast A Walk With A Naturalist, with our partners REGEN Media, in more natural areas around the province.
🦋 Our team did some scouting for the various Monarch Blitz activities around the region, with some eggs and butterflies having been discovered prior to our events!
🦆 Lauren V went to the Lorneville Estuary to document the bird population, for the Port of Saint John Waterbird Survey. She saw lots of birds, and even some Harbour Porpoises!

Nice to take part in the valuable work Nature NB is doing this summer!

In the past week, the Nature NB crew was out and about !
🎙 We recorded some new podcast episodes throughout last week for our upcoming series "A Walk with a Naturalist", with our partners REGEN Media and local club members.
🦇Bat boxes were built near Nackawic by our staff and the Davidson Lake Association.
🦉 Nocturnal birds called Nighthawks were the talk of the town, at least at Maybee Brewing Company, where we held an event with Birds Canada called "Nighthawks and Nightcaps". This inspired Sam to survey them in his neck of the woods, yesterday, where he was stopped in his route by an enormous mud puddle.

Some super wide shots of a super great time at the Youghall beach Living shoreline over the last few days.

We teamed up with NBEN RENB,Nature NB, Birds Canada, Bassins Versants de la Baie des Chaleurs/ Chaleur Bay Watershed and restoration experts from Helping Nature Heal + more to learn about more about living shorelines and to take part in a hands-on volunteer effort to restore the coast at Youghall Beach in Bathurst, New Brunswick. We helped plant trees and shrubs and build other natural erosion protection measures that will work to restore the living shoreline. These measures not only provide protection against storm surges, flooding, and erosion, but also create an important habitat for the endangered Bank Swallow species. This living shoreline restoration is being completed before the Bank Swallows migrate back to New Brunswick for the spring season to support the health of their population.
