Hey folks, with the pandemic taking a big bite out of small businesses and the music industry, we figured it'd be a good idea to share some websites that'll help you support some of the folks we've interviewed. It's as easy as buying a t-shirt or some of their goods online. Every little bit helps, and you're more than likely to find an awesome Xmas gift or two!

The time has finally come to present to you the 10th and final episode of our series on Montreal Music Professionals. We're really proud of this batch of interviews, and we're excited to get crackin' on our next batch of 10!

This one's all about Brigitte Naggar, of Montreal indie band, Common Holly. Brigitte was wonderful, and made time for us even though she had just got home from an 8 country tour in support of her most recent album, "When I Say to You Black Lightning". If you like what you hear, be sure to head to Common Holly's merch page to pick up the record, or snag a t-shirt.

Time for episode 3 of our series on Montreal music professionals! Sergio Da Silva gave us an illuminating interview about co-owning Turbo Haüs, dealing with the city, and all of the obstacles inherent to running one of Montreal's best music venues.

Since this interview was conducted in the before time, we don't get into the pandemic and its added stressors on small businesses. In order to keep things going, the ingenious folks at Turbo Haus have essentially become a merch company. I already have my own t-shirt, so why don't you go and get one too? Or a tote bag? Or whatever, you know? Since we can't see a show and buy a beer, go buy a shirt.

Big thanks to Sergio for providing one of my favourite interviews of all time! Wish we could have you on each and every episode!

Hey gang! If you haven't already binged the whole second series of 10 Outta 10, here's the second episode, featuring Jasamine White-Gluz of Montreal shoe-gaze outfit, No Joy.

We caught up with Jasamine shortly after the release of her new album, Motherhood. She told us all about producing and releasing music while stuck in quarantine, and the weirdness of doing all your promotions virtually, and not in a live in environment.

Make sure to head over to No Joy's bandcamp page, where you can listen to the new album and snag some merch! Sweet sweet merch!

This episode is also available on Spotify, Deezer, and Stitcher - so you can listen however you want. And if you like what you're hearing, make sure to subscribe and like and all that jazz - that way you'll get immediate updates when we post new episodes.

On the first episode of our series on the Montreal Music Industry, we sit down with Matt Collyer - lead singer of The Planet Smashers and head of Stomp Records.

Back in the 90's, starting your own label went hand in hand with building the Canadian punk and ska scene. Find out how Matt started a label from the ground up on today's episode of the 10 Outta 10 Podcast!

At long last, we present the 10th episode in our series on St-Henri entrepreneurs - an interview with Travis Driscoll and Nick Oaks of Bait & Schlang Tattoo.

In retrospect, it's unsurprising that all of our interviews have featured driven, talented people. These are, after all, a non-negotiable qualities when it comes to opening and maintaining a successful business. This fact is crystal clear when speaking to Travis and Nick. Knowing that they needed full control over their art and business, they struck out on their own, and have become prominent figures in not only St-Henri, but the Montreal tattoo industry at large.

One of my favourite interviews, to be sure.

Check them out on Instagram and book'em for your next tattoo!

We're back! We've been hard at work on our next batch of ten (release date still TBD), but in the meantime here's episode 9 of 10 of our St-Henri Entrepreneur series. And what's a St-Henri podcast without an interview at everyone's favourite watering hole, Bar de Courcelle?
Jesse-Lee, one of the owners, was kind enough to sit down with us and give us the ins and outs of running a pub that's right in the heart of town.

In the run up to New Years, it's only fitting that we post our seventh episode - an interview with Kevin and Ben from Helios Makerspace. They're volunteers and council members at Helios - a non-profit workshop that gives St-Henrians access to tools, classes, and project space. So if you're making a new year's resolution to become more handy, this is the best place to start.

Here's the sixth episode of 10outta10! Meet Jessica Starnino and Mackenzie Snow - the owners of La Luncheonette, a cozy and warm community-focused restaurant at the corner of St-Jacques and St-Philippe.

All businesses have to suffer through a bit of the unforeseen, and La Luncheonette is no exception. They experienced an unfair share of bumps and bruises in their first year. We'd never try to scare anyone off from opening up a business, but if you're unsure whether or not you have what it takes, maybe listen to this episode first. Mackenzie and Jessica set the bar for will and determination.

This evening we present, what was at the time, our very first recording of the 10outta10 podcast: an interview with the owners of the Atwater Market-famous riverboat, Canal lounge. A completely DIY effort, this chic cafe is a labour of love for its two owners - Gurvan Bartholo and Jeroen Ter Schiphorst. And if you ever wondered what sort of hoops one has to jump through in order to open a business, imagine what it's like opening up that business directly on the Lachine Canal. It wasn't easy.

Evoking the understated European charm of its wonderful owners, Canal Lounge is my favourite place in St-Henri for cocktails. Whether you're trying to impress a date or friends from out of town, this is a summertime must. Enjoy!

Have you ever wondered about what kind of companies populate all of the old industrial buildings in the hood? Places like Chateau St. Ambroise, the RCA building, and the old warehouse at 3500 Saint Jacques are testaments to the hood's long industrial heritage. Nowadays, these spaces have been totally refurbished and are benefitting from a boom in relocated companies and fledgling start-ups. Everyone - not just young professionals - are looking to take advantage of an up-and-coming neighbourhood and generous rent prices.

Scott and I figured, we ought to talk to someone from one of these businesses. Who better than Paul Kruszewski? He's the CEO of wrnch, an Artificial Intelligence company doing incredible things with motion capture tech.

We hope you like! It's not about beer, coffee, or pizza, but it's definitely something that will part of your day to day - whether you realize it or not.

Here's the second episode of the podcast! This week's interview is with the brewmaster at Brasserie McAuslan - Bière St-Ambroise, Dave Brophy. He's been with the company since its infancy, learned how to brew beer with a library card, and still remains one of Montreal's most creative brewers.

Our first episode on St-Henri entrepreneurs belongs to Tony Campanelli. The owner of a cafe that bares his name and a pizzeria called Adamo, Tony is considered by some to be an agent of gentrification in the neighbourhood - but that's usually what happens when you're the first guy to open up shop on a street that's long been neglected. Whatever your politics, it's tough to deny the fact that Tony started from modest means, was driven to succeed and - most importantly - brews a fine cup of coffee and slices up the best pizza in town.

You can find Campanelli at 4634 Notre-Dame Ouest. Pizzeria Adamo is just across the street.
