Ripper Sk8 Mag is a positively driven Canadian online interactive digital skateboard magazine.

Content submissions can be submitted on the Ripper Sk8 Mag Facebook Group or to [email protected], just make a post and your content is ready for Ripper to access anytime and for the world to see. We want to build a community and use our social media to showcase all talent within that community equally and represent positive skateboarding support and influences.

HMI Backyard Bash 2022
Second Annual

If you havent ever been to a Backyard Bash Contest in Hope over you def should. Hippie Mike always puts his heart and soul into trying to make his events all inclusive for everyone of all abilities and is always building his own ramps and making custom obstacles for people to slay, unique for every event. Always tons of food, a ton of product, everyone usually walks away with something and always having some pros out signing autographs and skating with everyone.

This years Bash they had a punk band performing, even one of the little kids jumped onto the drums to perform for a song.

one of the highlight obstacles in the course was a lifted trailer where you could skate as a giant bank. they buikt a custom clamshell quarter with coping and even had a small mini ramp out.

If you want to be a part of a skate community that feels like home, that pushes you to become better and always has your back, this is for sure the place to be. All the kids rip hard here and even as an adult the kids are rooting you on and even pushing you to grow. This is because the heart of “Animal Chin” is very much present and nurtured here. I guarantee if you keep an eye on this community some of the best B.C. Skateboarders will for sure be coming out of here.

The Backyard Bash is always the best time and always has a ton of people that show up. Highly encourage you all the come check it out next year.

Topaz Skatepark Grand Opening

Decided to go to Vancouver Island for the first time ever in my life, funny enough have lived here in BC my entire life but never had the chance to go over there.

When I first arrived I couldnt believe at how huge this park was and they incorporated obstacles for all skate styles and levels perfectly. One of the coolest features I saw was they built pressure sensitive and multi coloured park lights where if you did a grind on the coping near one, it would activate the lights.

Rob sluggo was out there giving out free Red Dragons completes to everyone encouraging and making skateboarding possible to get into for everyone from kids to adults alike.

The bowl is gnarly reminded me a lot of the West Kelowna clover bowl, seemed just as deep but with half the bowl steel coping and the other half pole coping.

I spent 3 days straight at this park, slept in golf course parking lots in my car and spent my nights going to local epic punk shows .

If you are ever in the Victoria area I highly suggest checking out this new park its a blast.

Here are a few photos taken during the professional skate demos that were being thrown down and everyone threw down hard while still trying to learn a brand park.

Ripper Sk8 Mag and Three Happy Cats are teaming up for the 2023 420 event at Sunset Beach.

We will be renting a ramp from and installing a 4’x16’ mini ramp at Sunset Beach on the beach itself where the community can come slay the ramp for free all day long while Ripper Sk8 Mag is there capturing the entire days sesh :)

After the Whistler Swatch Demo we all packed back into the car and made our way to the Squamish Skatepark to go for a rip at one of the best bowls BC has to offer.

Ripper loaded up the car with some friends and hit the road to go meet up with canada skateboard to go shoot for the Whistler skate community. Swatch braught out and to showcase their talents and work with kids to help inspire and create a stoke for the whistler Locs.

The event was amazing, everyone left with books, clothing, watches, tech decks and so much more quality merchandise, you didnt have to be pro to be noticed or leave with goodies, you just had to participate!!!!

Andy was met by fans, signing his life away but the most memorable monent for me was when a dad and his two kids came up to andy and gave him a hand drawn re-design of his pro model deck graphic in sticker form.

Stoking the kids is what this was all about and Ripper had a blast contributing by lighting a fire under everyone to throw down some gnar!!!!

Great times at the stop of yesterday. This time we focused on the confidence this community gathering gives the young skaters. Great talent, great people, nothing but love and kindness being thrown around.

is throwing down some wisdom about how to be positive role models to the next generation of skateboarders.

Beyond skateboarding being so heavily promoted these days to help build our next generation, theres also a lot more to skateboarding then just morivating kids and being role models such as having fun, making friends, going on road trips, being apart of epic sessions that motivate and push you to new levels and finding family.

We are all here to support our next generation but also remember to love it for yourself as an adult also and find your own passion so that you can influence others around you through your own experiences and self discovery.

Brentwood Block Party 2022
Ramptime Productions - Vert Demo

Recap video is in the works, going through 300 video clips, arranging, organizing and cutting all the content in the next week. Filmed this session within 8 different camera angles to give every trick a unique persoective.

The video will be edited into custom made full length runs for each skater, where only the best of the best tricks will be displayed.

Going to put a lot of time into this one to make it the best viewing experience possible.
