🔵 ¿Por qué se celebra el Día de Louis Riel?
Cada tercer lunes de febrero, Manitoba honra a Louis Riel, líder político y defensor de los derechos de los Métis. Fue una figura clave en la fundación de la provincia y en la lucha por la justicia y la autonomía de su pueblo. Su legado sigue vivo en la historia y la identidad de Manitoba.

🔵 ¿Por qué también es el Día de la Familia?
Manitoba estableció este feriado para que las familias puedan disfrutar juntas de un día de descanso y conexión. Es una oportunidad para reflexionar sobre la diversidad, la historia y los valores que unen a la comunidad.

🔵 Why is Louis Riel Day celebrated?
Every third Monday in February, Manitoba honors Louis Riel, a political leader and advocate for Métis rights. He played a crucial role in the founding of the province and fought for justice and autonomy for his people. His legacy remains a vital part of Manitoba’s history and identity.

🔵 Why is it also Family Day?
Manitoba established this holiday to give families a chance to spend quality time together. It’s an opportunity to reflect on diversity, history, and the values that bring our community together.

CIERRE DEL PADRÓN ELECTORAL: *12 DE ABRIL DE 2025* – ELECCIONES GENERALES 2026

En abril del 2026 se realizarán las elecciones generales del Perú para elegir al Presidente de la República, a dos vicepresidentes, a 190 congresistas de la República (60 senadores y 130 diputados) y a 5 parlamentarios andinos para el período gubernamental 2026-2031.

En atención a lo establecido en las normas que rigen los procesos electorales, el Registro Nacional de Identificación y Estado Civil (RENIEC) dispondrá el cierre del padrón electoral trescientos sesenta y cinco días (365) calendarios a la fecha en que se realizará una elección. El padrón electoral contendrá la información registrada por los ciudadanos en su DNI antes de la fecha del cierre.

La fecha límite del cierre del padrón electoral será el 12 de abril del 2025.

En ese sentido, se exhorta a los connacionales que residen en esta jurisdicción, y en cuyos DNIs no figura el domicilio actual, a actualizar esta información, – hasta el 12 de abril-, en este Consulado General para que puedan votar en la ciudad de Toronto. Para ese fin, se debe solicitar una cita con la debida antelación a: [email protected]

Asimismo, se recomienda a la comunidad peruana registrar las defunciones de connacionales que aún no se hayan inscrito en este Consulado General, en tanto esta información también es necesaria para actualizar el padrón electoral.
