Saturday Cinema blitz today... going through multiple Blu-Ray discs of films in my library capturing moments that captivated me. Coming Soon to this eccentric and reclusive Facebook diary page that no one cares about and I want for myself because it’s for me not you.
I learned a new term today...”the vomit draft”... This so called Snyder cut of “Justice League” will make its way to HBO MAX as a result of a high demand of fans petitioning for it. What are we going to see? Cinema? Or TV?
The movie is a year and $20 million away from existing.
Powerful moment in editing!
I read this over 20 years ago and have been fascinated with both the science and art of the motion picture. The science is art and the art is science. Like Ouroboros, the snake eating its own tail.
The Michael Corleone metamorphosis in the best sequel of all time is unforgettable.
There’s a feeling of Soderbergh’s Traffic that takes me back to my life in the early 2000’s. A masterpiece to start the new century. Watched this in Toronto on December 27th 2000.

Found a Malick Easter Egg!
In collaboration with director Terrence Malick and his co-workers, this piece shows the power of Pixel 3’s advanced camera.
Childhood innocence.
Watching the brilliant Masterpiece by Terrence Malick. This is the best of his entire filmography. Watching extended cut at 3 hours in length. The exploration of Time & Space in Cinema.
25 years ago I watched Waterworld at showcase cinema on harvester road stoned out of my tree... I remember how impactful the sound experience was... the Ulysses cut goes into greater depth on characters and motivations. I enjoyed it. Needs to be polished. Perhaps Costner, the true author of the film will revisit his mammoth production and do the clean up.
I asked my mother to draw me an interpretation of Freud's drawers of the unconscious later rendered by Salvador Dali in the City of Drawers. The drawers should have been drawn protruting from the front of his chest. Interesting she chose the side... looks painful... awkward... brilliant and unforgetable... thanks Mom.

Each one of these short films represents my reaction to a heavily influential piece of cinema that was released at the time. Terrence Malick's "The Tree of Life" in 2011 influenced my style in "Laynastasia", Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master" in 2012 for "The Persistence of Anastasia" & "Blade Runner 2049" in 2017 Directed by Denis Villeneuve. Looking back at all 3 films and my relationship with my own daughter growing up was a joy and memory that I will cherish until I die.
This short film highlights the existential journey of my daughter Anastasia on the morning of Sunday, October 2nd, 2012 between the hours of 9am-11am. This p...
Just purchased Terrence Malick's 2011 Masterpiece "The Tree of Life". Heavily influential on my Cinephile career and still resonates with me today.
