My main page (Northern Exposures Photography) is where I post all my photography. Like / Share / Follow I am a photographer first who, like many others, did not like the idea if AI digital art when it first became mainstream at the end of 2022. AI digital art directly competes with the hard work of our digital artists, skilled post production and all the photographers who spend countless hours see
king out the perfect landscapes, sunrises, or tracking the elusive wildlife. Now people can create the most amazing life like scenery with the correct prompts and some post production skills. But the reality is: AI is not going away. In fact, it takes a bit of thought to properly key in the correct prompts to create what you visualize in your head it to be. Still, this can be learned rather quickly. What I have personally decided to do in creating this page is to practice my post production skills and create AI digital art that I personally like and enjoy creating. This is completely different then photography and I would never imply that my digital art was shot with a camera. So in creating this page, I am interested in learning and creating digital art using AI but i do not want it to be associated with my regular photography / videography page, as i do not want to mislead any of my followers into thinking I shot these photos with a camera. This is my digital art page. No matter what anyone's opinion is, AI is here to stay. So I am going to join in on this new adventure and experiment with my own digital creations as well using not just AI technology, but also taking the products into photoshop to expand on the base creation and add even more personal elements to the final products. I spend a great deal of time on every image to perfect the look I am trying to deliver. AI will only get better and I hope to be part of that learning curve and advance as this genre does. This all reminds of years ago when I first got into Drone Photography. Drones were still rather new to the mainstream world at the time. The negative opinions were quite common in some groups as people thought drones were watching them or spying on them when in reality...people look like ants from a drone lol. People thought they had a right to tell drone pilots were they can and cannot fly or what they can capture when in fact the law and licensing outlines this. Some people publicly voiced saying they would hit a drone our of the sky or shoot it down if it was near their house, this too would be illegal in reality and would be very bad for the individual who tried. Now that drones are much more common, the crowd has come to accept and appreciate the hobby and more people have chosen to participate and become pilots themselves. Drone photography unlocked an entirely new point of view for photographers. The deep spenders who had access to planes and got some incredible aerial footage before drones were probably not too thrilled that joe blow can now buy a drone and get the same shots rather quickly and inexpensively. But regardless of popular opinion, drones continued to advance. Now most photographers have a mini drone in the bag with them. When digital cameras come out, the film developers with thousands of dollars invested in gear were not too happy either. the DSLR camera could shoot hundreds of shots and delete what they didn't want on the spot. When photoshop come out, the big spenders with the 20k lenses shooting wildlife were not too thrilled about the new kid with photoshop skills making gorgeous edits in post production and outclassing the big spender. Youtube promotes people reacting to other people's work. America's Got Talent promotes people singing other peoples music...then the winner gets to be famous singing another writers words backed by another bands music. Cartoons are created with animation software instead of flip books now days, and Pixar movies are not filmed, just voice overs. The world is evolving. And now here we are in yet another new era: The AI technology. Love it or hate it, its not going away. Common folk will not care how an image was made, just if they like it or not....and that is very important to understand no matter what your opinion is, because art is subjective. Art has no rules or limitations, its about creating something that will evoke feels or emotions. Creating something pleasing to the eye, or story telling to the world. Something happy or sad. Art is an expression of it's artist, even if you have to give an assist to the machine, camera, instrument or paintbrush at the end of the day. Because it is so new and there is a lot of negativity surrounding this genre, I feel like I have to explain myself for being interested in AI art, but I will not any longer. If your here following me, thank you for understanding and appreciating what I create! Thank you for all of your support! If your a hater, I have no room for you in my world. Your comments will be removed and you will be blocked. This is not a democracy, you don't get a vote on what I should or should not create. I'm not trying to offend anyone so please refrain from being negative or rude on my page. I am an open book, not misleading anyone. Opinions and critique is always welcomed, hate is not.
