"Rain on Me," the latest single from neo-soul artist and producer Shannon Chapman, falls over you like a gentle sun shower. Her most relaxed release to date, "Rain on Me" features luxurious Wurli and synth layers, a sax solo supported by a soft cloud of flugelhorns, and the delicate plink-plink of pizzicato strings. All together, "Rain on Me" conjures up the feeling of a welcome rainfall breaking up an oppressive heatwave. Put this on to feel cleansed and serene. RIYL: Moonchild, Raveena, Mac Ayres.

New single alert! 🚨

"The First Move" is the second single from vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Shannon Chapman's upcoming EP "Playing Games."

This alt-R&B track is an energetic believe-in-yourself bop, celebrating a take-charge, DIY attitude. Shannon’s signature flute and sax pairing take a brief horn break over the understated verse, before the momentum builds to a celebratory end chorus that will have listeners singing along. Synth bass, wah, layered percussion and retro Wurli lend a cool, neo-soul vibe.

Put on this track for a self-esteem boost or a mid-week pick-me-up!

Some very kind words from Ital Massive about Shannon Chapman's latest release "Blame It On the Moon"!

"Shannon has a voice that is both strong and soft, and the music behind her vocals is soothing and reassuring. She sings with a kind of wisdom that comes from both experience and age, but also with a sense of wonder."

New music from Shannon Chapman out now!

"Blame It on the Moon", Shannon Chapman’s newest release after her debut EP, is a groovy mid-tempo neo-soul track with a laid back beat. Smooth, decisive vocals take turns with punchy sax and a silky flute solo over a lush bed of piano, Rhodes, pads and synth bass.

Lyrically, Shannon flirts with the idea of learning to accept things you can’t control, chalk it up to the mysteries of the universe, and move on - easier said than done, but if that doesn’t work, one can always bliss out to this track when things get tough.

With Blame It on the Moon, Shannon hints that her next self-produced project will bring funkier grooves, a broader reach, and a lighter, more playful perspective, all the while exploring those universal themes of growth, maturing, and self-acceptance.
