Virality is like astronauts syndrome. Your content sky rockets but eventually you’ll come barrelling back down to earth because it’s not sustainable and usually doesn’t produce the results you were hoping for.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Virality is fleeting.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what should you be focusing on instead of going viral?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ Building Your Brand ✨A brand that’s sticky, consistent, sustainable, memorable and is in it for the long game.

We’re not saying that virality can’t have benefits, but putting so much energy into it rather than building consistently can be a waste of time, and if you were to go viral would your page and funnels be ready for it?

There’s a few reasons you should consider leaving your posts up and not deleting them..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In order to get better at creating engaging content you have to start. Consider every post you make a beginning, a step forward, an opportunity to learn, hone your skill and refine your expertise. If we all deleted ‘underperforming’ posts there probably wouldn’t be many posts on social 🤪
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also, how are you defining a flopped post?
If the purpose of your content is to connect with even ONE person who may find value, inspiration or entertainment from the content you put out— then you’ve already succeeded!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If your goal is to go viral every post, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. Not only is that unrealistic it’s not usually going to help you reach your business goals. 1M views does not equal 1M sales!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember, it’s always your decision. If the post doesn’t align with your brand or values or if it’s time-sensitive, deleting it could be the right move. Ultimately, it’s about what aligns with your social media strategy and goals, but if there’s not a really good reason— consider leaving it up!

It’s easy to fall into ‘productive procrastination’. Aka working on the small things, the easy tasks that don’t actually move the needle like tidying your desk, organizing your receipts, overanalyzing every detail of your next social post, making another cup of coffee (or tea in CJ’s case). Adding things to your never-ending to do list but never stopping to prioritize the tasks that will move you forward.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The small everyday tasks often distract us from taking risk and doing the BIGGER things that will really move the needle and make a difference for our businesses.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This year we’re focused on prioritizing & identifying what will move our business forward: things like finally setting up our email marketing, creating a lead magnet, delegating & outsourcing, and setting up a workflow & project management system.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You need to zoom out, in order to zoom in on what’s going to actually move you forward.
