âTaking my self care seriously
I have NEVER been the type of person that took self care seriously when I was young. I took advantage of the energy I had in my youth, pushing myself to my limits and forcing my body to go through with the commitments Iâd made.
Then in the summer of 2020, as my business was booked out and busy as it had ever been, I was hospitalized due to a massive panic attack.
I was forced to take a break, weather I wanted to or not. And this made me realize that I needed to invest in some preventative maintenance in order to survive the CEO life.
Your body will force you to rest, and from my experience, it will be when it is the least convenient, so choose a time that works best for you, and put it in your schedule.
âUnderstanding that being busy and being productive are 2 different things
This was a tough one for me. Not only did I think that they were one and the same, I also connected my busyness to my value.
The problem is, being âbusyâ wasnât serving me in either arena. I was burnt out and had nothing to show for it.
Learning how to be efficient in your business can be difficult because thereâs no âbossâ standing over your shoulder, but remember, when you are choosing to be busy in your business, you are also choosing not to have time for other things in life.
âRealizing perfectionism was holding my success back
When it comes to social media especially, not only have I struggled with this but I see it in clients on a daily basis.
