Heavenly Jubilee returns tonight at 8 on 103.5 Alive FM or online at alivefm.ca. This week we will hear songs from The Bill Gaither Trio, The Gaither Vocal Band, Debby Boone, The Kingsmen, The Gospelaires and Janet Pachal. Over the years there have been a few unusual musical combinations record and perform together. Examples would be Rock singer Robert Plant and Bluegrass singer Alison Krauss or back in the 1980's Willie Nelson and Julio Iglesias. In Gospel Music one of the most unusual musical combinations would be Christian Rock group The Newsboys and Vestal Goodman. We'll take a listen to a song they recorded a few years ago on this weeks program. We will also hear a song that Dolly Parton performed at the 1989 County Music Association awards that brought the house down that night and is still spoken of today. This week we will hear from The Bill Gaither Trio, The Gaither Vocal Band, Amy Grant and Vince Gill, The Cathedrals, The Rambos, The Isaacs with Terry Bradshaw and many more. In 1983 The Imperials released a double album called Side by Side where each vocalist recorded five songs as a soloist rather than the group recording together. We'll hear one of the songs from that album that featured long time tenor Jim Murray. A Tearful Note from Dr. John Neufeld

On August 17, 2024, my beloved wife Kathy, passed through the gates of splendor and into the loving embrace of her Lord and Saviour. Writing to the Philippians, Paul says, that to depart and be with Christ is better by far. Her citizenship is in heaven.

On June 29 of this year, Kathy was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. From the diagnosis of this disease to her death was exactly 7 weeks. Throughout her short and difficult ordeal, she expressed continual confidence in her savior. She was faithful unto death and has received the crown of life.

Please pray for me and my family. We are grieving deeply. But we are confident in the good eternal purposes of God.

Willie Wynn is best remembered as the long time tenor for The Oak Ridge Boys from 1959 to 1973. Willie loved being an Oak and loved the progressive music they were doing in the early 1970's. Forward House is a Nonprofit organization helping to provide addiction recover resources to the people of Saint John. They are looking to expand their clean sober living community by growing their recovery centre resources.

They will be hosting a very special evening of worship and testimony, Sunday Aug 25th, 6:30pm at the Renewed Hope Church, 1411 Loch Lomond Road. Weather permitting, this will be outside, so bring your lawn chairs.

Come and find out more about this ministry and how God continues to bless and grow this community of love and compassion. There will be a dessert potluck after the event, so bring a dish if you can.

When Country Music exploded in popularity in the 1990's one of the ripple effects was an increased interest in Christian Country Music. One of the leading Christian Country bands of that era were White River. We'll hear one of their popular songs of that time, an unusual song called Rodeo Preacher. This week we'll hear music from Legacy 5, William Lee Golden and The Goldens, The LaPointes, The Master's V, Henry and Hazel Slaughter and many more. Considering their success through the 80's and 90's, it is hard to imagine a time that The Cathedrals were struggling but the decade of the 1970's was a time of struggle for the group. There were a couple of songs through that time that did get them some attention. One of those songs was an unusual song called The Last Sunday which we will take a listen to this week. We will have a special patriotic segment on this Canada Day weekend with songs from Lee Greenwood, The Nations, Karen Vanderwell, The Torchmen and The Gospelaires. We will also hear a song from The Kingsmen recorded on their now classic album Stand Up At Opryland USA. Country Legend Roy Acuff was asked to bring The Kingsmen on stage that night, but the introduction didn't go as planned. We will take a listen to Roy's not so perfect introduction of The Kingsmen.
