Earthquake. Did you feel it?

An earthquake struck B.C.’s Sunshine Coast on Friday afternoon around 1.30pm. Shaking was shaking felt across the Lower Mainland.

Earthquakes Canada has put the magnitude at 5.1. The U.S. Geographical Survey (USGS) measured the earthquake at magnitude 4.8.

I looked this up as I was reading two different measurements and this explains it.

I included the picture from so that you can reference and be prepared if you are using a cane, walker, or wheelchair.

mentioned that they are actively monitoring the situation and there’s no Tsunami threat to B.C.

🌺 “LEST WE FORGET” 🌺

Do you know where this phrase came from?

In 1897 Rudyard Kipling wrote a poem entitled “Recessional,” where he reminds readers not to forget what is not to be obliterated. In the poem, he underscores the phrase “lest we forget”:

“God of our fathers, known of old,
Lord of our far-flung battle-line,
Beneath whose awful Hand we hold
Dominion over palm and pine
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget - lest we forget!”

🌺 It’s then adopted to capture the significance of remembering the soldiers fallen in war, and it has become widely known for Remembrance Day.

Happy Labour Day!

It’s already and Don paragraph says it the best!

“I have mixed feelings about this time of year. I always love the longer days and I can’t help but realize we’ve already lost 90 minutes of daylight and the air is crisper in the evening. I always want to put more into the day. More walks, more swims, more hikes, more memories... I am grateful though in these moments”.
