How can you, a business owner, bring new people into your life and help them stay for the long term?
Here's one way👇🏼
➡️During onboarding, ask your employees what motivates them. Money, recognition, career advancement, societal/environmental impact?
Whatever that is, that reason will be the main focus of your relationship with that person.✨
Performance reviews can be evolved into relationship-building exercises. When the employer understands the reality of the individual's motivation, it is easier to have a long-term development strategy with them. 🔥
✅ Here's an example:
You hire Alex as a graphic designer, and Alex is motivated by money (DUH). How can you keep Alex in the long run? Create a pathway for success in the monetary aspect.
If Alex is earning $25 per hour, then after a set amount of project hours, Alex will earn $5 more per hour. That can be 3 months, 1 year or 2 - but Alex can see the path to her success from the beginning.
