Ocean Baker was born in, and lives in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. Ocean has an intense love for art & fashion. He had shown a keen eye for design by the age of 10, and by age 12, was a full blown sneakerhead and hype beast, well-known in the streetwear community. Going to every Sneaker Con he could talk his parents into paying for, Ocean was unique in this culture as compared to the masses that just wanted to collect, buy, and sell; he wanted to create. Create the clothing, create the logos, design the patterns, and build the shoes from scratch. By age 16, Ocean was headed to Los Angeles to be the understudy of an established fashion designer, and while there, sitting at a sewing machine cutting patterns and smiling ear to ear, Ocean designed and created his first pair of Nike's. This is the heart in which his company Natsukashii was born.
Ocean is an avid surfer and loves everything to do with water. He loves shopping, travel, hanging out in Tofino BC, trying new restaurants, and reading anime books. He is also a lover of music and music stores, especially ones that offer vinyl.

Rayan, or Ray 18 years old and has a twin brother. His interested in boxing started around four years ago at the age of 14. He now trains people of all ages at Panther Gym.
Benny (the Jet) Swanson from Panther Gym (on whyte ave) has been training Ray for a few years now. Benny had a reality show for a couple of seasons called 'Against the ropes' Bennys’ daughter was national champ.
Ray being trained exclusively by Benny, has had a total of eight fighters back out of fights. He is now training with a European Champion who flew in from UK �last month. Ray is planning his debut fight soon �

Ryan Schoel aka “Ry The Costume Shoppe guy” has been owner of Calgary’s famous costume shop,The Costume Shoppe since 2016. The store is which is on the Blackfoot corner of 42nd Ave. and this year will be his 9th Halloween. The Costume Shop has been around since 1995 so for 29 years! Ryan was born in Montreal and moved to “Canada” from there in 1998. He worked as a sales representative and Manufactures rep from then t’ill 2016, when he bought the store.
Since then as he started to get his feet under himself, he had to deal with some strange but none the less business obstacles like, the closing of the street in October to fix as an emergency, the fire hydrant that was run over in April, and the following year the parking lot entrance was closed to make a bike path in October, then the Shop and the World faced the Pandemic, and all the craziness that came with that, and now an obscure fight with the CBSA over costumes not being costumes but clothing, yet there he is!
He says he is very blessed with the most amazing staff and that his family has been super supportive. Also mentionable, is that many other small business owners have come over to show support and Ryan really make a point of partnering with schools, churches and Charity organizations. He feels as much part of the Community of Calgary as Calgary is a part of him! That said they sell throughout Canada and the world, most recently to Switzerland!

Ms. Starnes, a resident of a small Western Pennsylvania rural community, suffered astounding ostracism and unwonted notoriety as a result of her decision to file her case in October 2017, shortly before the details of the infamous Harvey Weinstein conduct became public. Her decision to bring the action against her employer and a judge demonstrated a courageous effort to disclose official wrongdoing. While there were some in the community who respected her and supported her efforts to reveal a sordid story, many resulted to victim blaming and vilified her character in highly degrading internet postings Nevertheless, Ms. Starnes persisted to protect her own rights and the rights of others.
She owns “Voice For Victims LLC.” Whose mission is to help people who are suffering in silence to know that they have a voice. She has three podcast shows and started her acting career two years ago.

It’s been a few years since Kim made her first appearance on Connected W Cari. (In fact she was on Season 1, Episode 18). Last time she shared her jaw dropping story of her weight loss journey with us and how she lost 2/3 of her body weight. Losing so much body weight also meant having the necessary surgeries for excess skin, especially her arms. Considering being a hair stylist as your full time career, excess skin hanging off your arms meant a lot of pain that she had to endure.
During our update we will speak to Kimberly to see how things have changed, for better or worse over the years and the new challenges she faces financially.

Canadian-born actress, award winning director, writer and producer Ali Chappell is a classically trained artist making a name for herself across multiple mediums, all over the world. In feature films, she has starred as "Eva" the lead villain in iconic producer Charles Band's 2019's horror drama NECROPOLIS: LEGION, played an alien goddess in the award-winning 2020 experimental dark fantasy film SPACE VAMPIRE and a blade-wielding murderer in the upcoming psychological thriller GIRL WITH A STRAIGHT RAZOR. On stage, she played Annie/Shelly in a Canadian mounting of the long-running EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL. As a model, she has appeared in several international film and fashion magazines. In 2020, she appeared as the legendary character "Vampirella" on the cover of Dynamite Comics' VENGEANCE OF VAMPIRELLA as well as reprising her "Eva" character as a Dan Mendoza (ZOMBIE TRAMP) illustration for the comic book adaptation of NECROPOLIS: LEGION from Full Moon Comix. As a producer, her credits include SPACE VAMPIRE and director Justin McConnell's critically acclaimed, festival favorite documentary THE CLAPBOARD JUNGLE. She returned to Full Moon Empire with IT KNOWS YOU'RE ALONE PARADITE LADY and SCREAM OF THE BLIND DEAD and obtained a producer and costuming credit for her behind the camera work on those films.

Ocean Baker was born in, and lives in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. Ocean has an intense love for art & fashion. He had shown a keen eye for design by the age of 10, and by age 12, was a full blown sneakerhead and hype beast, well-known in the streetwear community. Going to every Sneaker Con he could talk his parents into paying for, Ocean was unique in this culture as compared to the masses that just wanted to collect, buy, and sell; he wanted to create. Create the clothing, create the logos, design the patterns, and build the shoes from scratch. By age 16, Ocean was headed to Los Angeles to be the understudy of an established fashion designer, and while there, sitting at a sewing machine cutting patterns and smiling ear to ear, Ocean designed and created his first pair of Nike's. This is the heart in which his company Natsukashii was born. Ocean is an avid surfer and loves everything to do with water. He loves shopping, travel, hanging out in Tofino BC, trying new restaurants, and reading anime books. He is also a lover of music and music stores, especially ones that offer vinyl. Rayan, or Ray 18 years old and has a twin brother. His interested in boxing started around four years ago at the age of 14. He now trains people of all ages at Panther Gym. Benny (the Jet) Swanson from Panther Gym (on whyte ave) has been training Ray for a few years now. Benny had a reality show for a couple of seasons called 'Against the ropes' Bennys’ daughter was national champ. Ray being trained exclusively by Benny, has had a total of eight fighters back out of fights. He is now training with a European Champion who flew in from UK �last month. Ryan Schoel aka “Ry The Costume Shoppe guy” has been owner of Calgary’s famous costume shop,The Costume Shoppe since 2016. The store is which is on the Blackfoot corner of 42nd Ave. and this year will be his 9th Halloween. The Costume Shop has been around since 1995 so for 29 years! Ryan was born in Montreal and moved to “Canada” from there in 1998. He worked as a sales representative and Manufactures rep from then t’ill 2016, when he bought the store. Since then as he started to get his feet under himself, he had to deal with some strange but none the less business obstacles like, the closing of the street in October to fix as an emergency, the fire hydrant that was run over in April, and the following year the parking lot entrance was closed to make a bike path in October, then the Shop and the World faced the Pandemic, and all the craziness that came with that, and now an obscure fight with the CBSA over costumes not being costumes but clothing, yet there he is! He says he is very blessed with the most amazing staff and that his family has been super supportive. Also mentionable, is that many other small business owners have come over to show support and Ryan really make a point of partnering with schools, churches and Charity organizations. He feels as much part of the Community of Calgary as Calgary is a part of him!
