Why am I taking a break from Going-Places eNewsletter?

My husband is the The MBA Coach (https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-mba-coach/)

doing really great work helping MBA students
now he's offering a Job Search Organizer (Notion template) that is the absolute bomb! (If you're using Excel, then you're template could be better)

I've seen him set up other (non-MBA) students for success as well: REAL advice about:
- interview techniques,
- the importance of researching the company you want to work for and
- reaching out to employees for informational interviews

This stuff is life-altering for young people who need jobs once they graduate - also for people who've lost their jobs.

There is more to it than responding to a job posting. And there are many folks applying for jobs today who don't know....

I'd like to support his mission to help as many people as possible "get their dream jobs," so I'm taking a break from my Going Places eNewsletter to help.

Right now, I'm in the research phase: Reading "The Job Closer" by Steve Dalton and taking notes.

1. 🎃 Getting into the Halloween spirit: See iconic creepy characters and loads of pumpkins alive with lights?
2. 🎃 The high quality: These are unlike any pumpkins you have ever seen. The displays are so unique and intricate that people take their time to really look at them. The crowd lingers appreciatively from one to the next. Our fav this year was the large Pac-Man machine (made of pumpkins, of course!)
3. 🎃 Interactive: Test your observation skills and find the Pumpkin Twins to win a prize.
4. 🎃 It's for everyone: All the kids (our group had kids about 10 yrs to 15 yrs) and adults loved it! With over 50 themes, I dare you to think of one they don't have! And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the mysterious characters who greet you on the path and live carving demonstrations in the Spook-Easy Barn.
5. 🎃 Food and beverages: Have some Beaver Tails and Poutine. After that, head onto the trail to the right of the food truck, where you'll see the Spook Easy. You may try a free sample of ​Partake​ (a non-alcoholic beer) inside.

Kingsford Gardens is a lovely place to bring your dog (and kids)

When you park there, on the left side, you’ll see Kingsford Community Gardens, walking trails and a nearby children's playground. On the right is a short trail to the beautiful dog park.

Patisserie D'Or is one of the restaurants I'm featuring in an upcoming article about the Best Bakeries in Oakville. They specialize in amazing croissants (we had a chocolate croissant), tasty tarts (I recommend the Peach-Almond - it was ah-mazing!) and beautiful small cakes.
