I appealed their decision and won and got this page back but not Muskoka Crew.

In Early Feb, The Foster Family (Don's Bakery owners) were involved in a collision that was not their fault resulting in them having to focus on healing and recovery.

Today, with my colleagues Taylor and Ariana we signed a one day contract to help with the Midland Butter Tart Festival. It was a huge success and we sold out at 1 pm.
They have supported us and today was our turn to step up and support them.

My question and the response I got.

I am just wondering when Minster St-Onge is expected to reach a deal with META?
META has blocked Facebook and Instagram. Newsrooms are closing and media jobs are being cut

Find some quotes and background below answering your question:

Attributable to Canadian Heritage Minister Pascale St-Onge:
“Canadians and people all over the world rely on digital platforms to access their news and information, but these tech platforms have to act responsibly and support the news sharing they and citizens both benefit from. The Online News Act we passed in our Parliament requires these dominant platforms to bargain fairly with news outlets—both big and small. It’s transparent, durable, and operates independently from government. Tech giants can and must contribute their fair share—nothing more. Canadians expect a vibrant news landscape where we can get the facts when we need them.”
“Facebook continues to make an unfortunate and reckless choice to block news on their platforms. Facebook is leaving disinformation and misinformation to spread on their platform, while choosing to block access to reliable, high-quality, independent journalism. I have encouraged Canadians to go directly to local news outlets and support Canadian journalists. Without fact-based news, Facebook is just leaving room for misinformation during need-to-know situations like wildfires, emergencies, local elections and other critical times for people to make decisions on matters that affect them. Canadians expect tech giants to pay their fair share for news.”
Attributable to a spokesperson (me – Ariane Joazard-Bélizaire) for the Office of the Minister of Canadian Heritage:
“As we approach another wildfire season this year, which particularly impacts on the North in Canada, Facebook continues to recklessly and dangerously block news on their platforms. We are extremely concerned that Canadians won’t be able access or share vital information on social media at times when affected Canadians are checking in on loved ones, possibly evacuating again and we face evolving climate change-related crises. Social media has become an incredible space for people to connect and share information. But these platforms are only successful because people use them and trust them. The fact that Facebook would rather block people from reading and sharing news instead of paying their fair share for reliable news shows how deeply irresponsible and unreasonable they are. Their “business decision” has a real, negative impact on citizens, after years of Facebook increasingly controlling the distribution and visibility of content.”
"Throughout the process, Facebook chose not to engage constructively to try to improve the Act we put forward. They would rather block their users from accessing good quality and local news instead of paying their fair share to news organizations. We said many times before that our door is open if Facebook wants to come to the table and discuss paying their fair share for the content Canadian journalists produce and which they profit from. They have chosen instead to try to intimidate Canadians. With the Act and regulations now in force, the CRTC is in the independent regulator who they should engage with if they will finally do what Canadians have been asking them to – pay for the news you use. A free and independent press is fundamental to our democracy, and Canadians expect tech giants to support reliable news and information being available in our country.”
“Thanks to the Online News Act, newsrooms across the country will now be able to negotiate fairly for compensation when their work is used by the biggest digital platforms. It levels the playing field by putting the power of tech giants in check and ensuring that even our smallest news business can benefit through this framework and receive fair compensation for their work. This is a meaningful step towards a more sustainable news and information ecosystem for Canadians.”
On background (not for specific attribution):
The CRTC is analyzing if there’s still news available on Meta and therefore if it has to comply under the act.
Google and Facebook earn 80% of all digital advertising revenue, around $10 billion a year, in Canada.
Meanwhile, hundreds of newsrooms have closed, and thousands of journalists are no longer doing that important work.
Google has agreed to contribute $100M/year, indexed to inflation, to support news sustainability in Canada through the Online News Act and worked constructively through the regulatory process with the Government of Canada.
Google has opened their $100M open call for the first year of funding, which news organizations can now apply to be a part of.

Social Media Manager Shares the Red Flags and Green Flags - When To Run From and When To Sign With a New Employer

Red Flags:

"We're a family" = translation: we're not a family.
"We work hard and play hard" = translation: once a year we have a mandatory office BBQ with icebreakers and overly competitive games with the boss.
"There are usually 7 or 8 rounds of interviews" = "We don't know how to make a decision and everything you do will go through endless approval stages."
Non-remote/hybrid work - for the average office job, there aren't many benefits to commuting and working in a cubicle. Most people get more done given the opportunity to work from home.
The management contradicts each other and lets the teams figure it out.
"You'll be expected to hit the ground running" = We don't understand your job so can't train you.
If they call the Social Media staff 'Gurus/Rockstars/Ninjas' instead of their job title.
If the interviewer can't answer your questions about the duties or details of your job, you're not going to get help later.
"We've got an assignment for you as part of the interview process." = translation: "We need you to do some free work for us which we'll use but not pay you."

Green Flags:

They're interested in you as a person and what you do outside of work.
They ask follow-up questions instead of going through the list they printed out.
"You're the expert, so you'll get to lead" = translation: You know more than us, that's why we want you.
"Work-life balance is important to us" followed by a list of benefits that have nothing to do with work.
Remote/hybrid policies that understand different people work differently and benefit from a non-office environment.
Professional development opportunities - the company wants you to grow in your position and beyond.
The entire team, from the interns to the CEO can clearly tell you the company's mission and path to get there.
