We could not be more excited to announce that tomorrow’s episode is with Ashton O’Brien, President of 🙌

We sat down with Ashton earlier this month and discussed all things gender and identity. Not only did Ashton share their own story of self-discovery while growing up in the BC interior, but they also provided advice on how to talk to your friends and family about gender, how to make the workplace more inclusive, and even how to be better feminists!

New year, sober me? Is that how the saying goes?

In the early weeks of a new year, people around the world try to accomplish new goals or quit old habits, and one of the most popular things do to is "Dry January." This year, more people participated in Dry January (taking a break from alcohol for the month) than ever before!

Sobriety is at the forefront of our internet conversations more and more. From reality TV stars thriving in their sobriety, to the fitness influencers acknowledging the harms of alcohol, being 'sober' is becoming less taboo and more recognized.

Despite it being more prevalent, becoming sober (for any reason) is a lot harder in practice. No one knows the ups and downs of sobriety better than this week's guest, Michelle Pugle, who is now over 18 months sober and has had a major life transformation due to it.

Michelle Pugle is a educational health writer, creative author and poet who has previously graced the podcast to discuss her experience with an eating disorder and the impacts of social media on mental health. This week, Michelle dives into the details of her sobriety journey - from day one to year one - and her story provides actual advice on how to navigate social scenarios and family relationship without alcohol. We discuss the changes she has experienced with dating, support groups, friendships and even with how she watches reality tv!

Michelle also spills the details on her new book and the re-release of Ana, Mia & Me!

You can find Michelle at www.michellepugle.com for updates on new articles and posts, and you can follow her at on Instagram & Facebook.

Episode 29 is LIVE 🎙✨

Community can feel like an abstract concept, but it truly takes a conscious effort to create one that is empowers its members. This week's guests could teach a master class on community building, as they have done just that through their evolving partnership.

Brianne and Calli first bonded over their common appreciation for creativity, and that bond developed into motivation as they created Makeshift workspace. Through that first endeavor, they built a community of people that valued inclusivity and sustainability, encouraging them to expand into their first retail space - a little store you may have heard of - Far and Wide.

Far and Wide aims to continually develop that sense of community based on their core values, while promoting local, sustainable, vintage, and beautiful products. Since the opening of Far and Wide, they have seen immense support. They have now expanded into a new, larger retail space, and they have added a second store, the Botanical Scene.

In this episode, Brianne and Calli discuss their partnership journey, they let us in on their best home design secrets, and they provide some real life advice for women looking to start their own businesses.

They are huge inspirations for us with their business model focusing on sustainability, collaboration, positivity and inclusivity - these are values we hope to promote in what we do, and their success absolutely encourages other businesses to take a similar lens to conducting business.

If you have a spare moment before the holidays, pop into Far + Wide and the Botanical Scene to find those perfect, one of a kind gifts! Both stores are located on Victoria street, downtown Kamloops.

🎉🎉ITS OUR BIRTHDAY!!! 🎉🎉

It’s been 365 days since we released our first episode!

That day we were nervous, excited, vulnerable, and had no idea what to expect or what this would grow into! We changed directions, figured out how to edit and use audio software, and slowly figured out exactly what this show is meant to do.

This show has grown from a creative outlet and friendship bonding to an incredible and compassionate group of people trying to better themselves and better their communities. We have realized that so many of you share the same fears and concerns that come along with figuring our lives out, and together we are changing the traditional narratives around success to make for happy and healthier world 🤍

Thank you so much for being a part of our journey and continuously supporting us!

Here’s to year two 🥂🥳

WE ARE LIVE! 🎙🤍

Our episode with Michele Walker and Jacquie Brand of the Kamloops Y Women’s Emergency Shelter is now available on all streaming services for download!

During our conversation, we discuss the realities that women face when they are trying to flee violence, the different types of violence, the systemic racism that Indigenous women face and the national crisis of MMIWG, and how ‘unlearning’ can be a powerful first step to create change.

We were so deeply impacted by this conversation, and we truly hope our listeners take the time to listen to this episode.

It’s hard to imagine that in Canada, half of all women have experienced an incident of physical or sexual violence; this statistic is above the global average of 1/3 - but these are not just statistics, these are our mothers, daughters, children, and loved ones - women who instil vibrancy and compassion into our communities.

We are so lucky to have had the opportunity to learn more about risk factors and how to combat violence during a conversation with the General Manager and Director of the Kamloops Y Women’s Emergency Shelter, Michele Walker and Jacquie Brand. The shelter provides emergency housing and resources for women and children fleeing violence.

We can’t wait to share this impactful conversation with you all tomorrow, at 4pm PST, on all streaming services!

If you or someone you know might need access to the shelter or it’s resources, call: 250-374-6162 or text: 250-682-7931

Guess who is back! 👀✨

Hi everyone, it’s Cassandra! I’m so excited to let you all know that we have a new episode dropping this Thursday!

It has been awhile since we have had an episode out, and we wanted to say how thankful we are for your patience over the past few months 🤍

Since we last released content, Kenn has started law school and it has been crazy intense, and I have helped my family organize a huge wedding at our home while working fulltime - so needless to say, it has been difficult to find time for our beloved passion project.

That being said, we are more motivated than ever to release new content now that we are in a more steady routine in our personal lives, and we can’t wait to share what we have been working on behind the scenes!!

Our new episode will drop Thursday, at 4:00pm PST on all streaming services ⚡️

Seriously, we bring up ‘blocking’ so much we could change the meaning of BCP.

That being said, sometimes the fall is a tough time to be on social media. There is so much comparison on here, that when your peers are posting their life highlight reel, it’s hard for it not to impact your self esteem. Or, maybe the content that someone posts is harmful to your mental health for a multitude of reasons.

If deleting social media entirely isn’t an option for you, we wholeheartedly believe in blocking harmful accounts or ‘muting.’ Instagram has a feature where you can go to someone’s profile and choose to ‘mute’ their content - you still appear as mutual follows, but you aren’t seeing their posts anymore. This feature is the same on Facebook, but it is referred to as ‘follow’ instead of mute!

Protect yourself by regulating what you see!
