"The revelation of Jesus Christ as the incarnated 'God with flesh on' has shaken the world since it all happened. History before the birth was all pointing to the birth. History since the birth has been confirming that the coming of the Saviour changes everything; everything! It still does, even during a pandemic! It was, is, and always will be, the ultimate in Good News."

Day 7: PAONL week of prayer.

Jan. 15: WITNESSING

"Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." - John 17:23b

Pray for:
1. Favour and a good reputation.
2. Every believer to obey the Great Commission.
3. Lost people to become disciples of Jesus.

"Father, we acknowledge that You have called us, first and foremost, to make disciples of all nations. We repent for neglecting Your mission. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit to empower us for mission as we await our Blessed Hope, the immanent return of Christ. We pray that our churches would be beacons of light and hope in our communities. We pray that You would give us favour and power to make disciples who make disciples. We pray for Your favour, for open doors to live out and proclaim Your gospel in tangible ways."

Day 6: PAONL Week of Prayer!

January 14: UNITING

Pray for:
1. Local church unity.
2. Denominational unity.
3. Church unity.

Prayer:
"Father, we confess today that we have not yet attained this unity. We have fallen short of the desire and prayer of Your Son, Jesus. We pray for a fresh move of Your Holy Spirit individually and collectively, to move us towards reconciliation and true unity. We pray that unity would be expressed in diversity. We pray for the power to forgive and to receive forgiveness."

Day 5: PAONL week of prayer!

January 13: PERSEVERING!

"My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth." - John 17:15-17

Pray for:
1. Protection from worldly thoughts.
2. Protection from worldly attitudes.
3. Protection from worldly actions.

"Father, these are challenging times. Never before has our culture seemed more divided or hostile. We pray that You would protect us from the devil's schemes. Protect us from our culture's negative influence. Protect us from behaviours that would destroy our fellowship and our witness. Make us holy as You are holy. Let Your word sink deeper than our minds, into our hearts, souls and hands."

Day 4: PAONL week of Prayer!

January 12: OBEYING

"I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word." - John 17:6

Pray for:
1. A fresh sense of calling.
2. Soft, humble hearts.
3. Obedience individually and corporately.

"Father, thank You for calling me to make disciples of all nations. Thank You that You chose me to be a part of my church family, and that You called us together to be a part of Your mission. I pray that You would keep our hearts soft and humble, that we would not grow proud or arrogant or stubborn. I pray that we would move together in obedience to Your Holy Spirit's leading."

Day 3: PAONL week of prayer: GROWING!

"This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." - John 15:8

Pray for:
1. Growth in the fruit of the Spirit.
2. Growth in our relationships.
3. Growth in our discipleship efforts.

Prayer:
"Father, we thank You today that You are the gardener of our souls. We ask You today to prune anything that is dead or unfruitful so that we can bear much fruit. Grow us in grace. Reconcile us to each other. Let our lives produce the kind of fruit that will be attractive to a polarized, hurting world. Let our words be seasoned with salt and our hearts prepared to give an answer to those who ask about our hope."
