The Taxi Passenger R***e, with Mike Robillard, is an internet radio show and podcast weaving local Sault Ste Marie stories and Pop Culture into sound and music-rich documentaries about living in the North.

Due to the ever changing nature of... well, everything. It might be awhile before we can produce fresh content for you here at the Taxi Passenger R***e and put it out there for you. But keep listening to The Borderline.ca this summer and I'm thinking September-ish we will have some fresh episodes

- So, meanwhile,
know I'm working on ideas here and will try to post some writing once or twice a week on FB over the summer of 2020.

---------------------------------------
Declaration for Liberty of Conscience
(interpolations and extrapolations)

We must indeed take responsibility for our actions, and therefore cannot be given the credit or blame for anything that is still left undone.
Instead each person must align the parts of the heart and mind that are divine.
We must each call upon what is volition and empower what we best command.
We must transcend the hallucinated voices of others and carefully throw off the established hierarchy so as to be reborn.
We must recast reflections onto that which is good and throw off the distorting illusions and despair of The Dark Cloud Man.
To this I light heartedly raise my glass, for he is condemned eternally.

I muse now only on Aristotle's doctrine that all things tend to reach perfection...

I muse on you.
From my mind you could have no end or could simply be stacked one upon some other like a secret lover.
But the fibre of these bleached and flattened sheets, these sheets from the broken back of a great mother tree is resting under this hand of inaction.
It is human marvel and like so many meanderings of thoughts they spread out like jam on this paper.

They are to be eaten.

Interpolations and extrapolations of a mind braking free.
As it should rightly be.
Interpretations of interpretations...
The Echo of volition.
The act of willing, choosing and resolving personal or divine government.
A moment of thinking in the eternity of all thought.
They are akin to hallucinated voices, but more likely an attempt to follow through with the primordial need to enact the very will of God.

R.I.P.
Floyd Lee New York City Blues Legend Dies At 86
Mississippi bluesman Floyd Lee who also went by the name of Theodore Williams died Sunday, June 7th, 2020 at Mount Carmel East hospital in Columbus Ohio of heart failure at the age of 86.
Mr. Lee, a vocalist and guitarist who was known for his passionate performances in the train stations and street festivals around New York City since the early 1970s found a successful recording career in the 2000's on the Amogla Records label with Mean Blues becoming one of his most popular songs.
Mr. Lee was the founding member of the Music Under New York Program, formerly Arts for Transit, and later being a judge on their board. He performed at Mayor Dinkins inauguration with Nelson Mandela in attendance.
Mr. Lee worked as a doorman for twenty seven years at the Normandy Apartments on the Upper West side of Manhattan before retiring in 1996. He then devoted his full time to his music career where he ended up traveling the world playing music festivals in countries such as France, Switzerland, Japan and Russia as well as touring all around the US.
Mr. Lee was born in Lamar Mississippi August 20th, 1933. Given away at one month old, he picked and chopped cotton as a child in the summer months and attended school in Memphis Tennessee in the winter months. He was inspired by his father Guitar Floyd and Guitar Slim to start playing the guitar and also by his mother singing while working in the cotton fields and doing chores around the house. At the age of ten, after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, he was sent to live with relatives in Chicago.
Mr Lee then moved with his relatives to Cleveland Ohio were he sold newspapers and became a batboy for the Cleveland Indians. As an adult he started performing at rent parties and playing guitar with bluesman Jimmy Reed when he'd come to town. He also sang in the doo w*p group the Thunderbirds and participated in the Alan Freed Rock 'n Roll shows.
Mr. Lee was the subject of a documentary entitled Full Moon Lightnin' where he reconnects with his family in Mississippi after sixty years apart. The film won the Living Blues Award in 2009 for Best Blues Documentary in Living Blues magazine's readers poll.

Jodie Drake
Blues and Jazz Singer Jodie Drake is a legend. From her beginnings in Detroit to her many years of breaking ground in Canada, she has consistently promoted Black music, often simply through the power of her voice. Blues in my Bread made for a CBC national broadcast, presents the women in all her glory. Browne had full access to the singer, her interview and performances combine with now rare footage from Drakes TV appearances in the 60's and 70's add an important chapter to the history of jazz and blues in Canada.

The popular 80s cartoon series Dungeons & Dragons was unexpectedly cancelled after 3 seasons (1983-1985). The kids trapped in another world, never made it home again. Now, in this Brazilian car commercial, we finally get the ending this show deserves. And it would also be nice if Hollywood took notice, and made a version of this into an actual movie.
