BOUGAINVILLEA ROAD LIT MAG
ABOUT
We look for writing that is willing to take risks with style and content while still retaining coherency. We are the Hail Mary pass that lands in the arms of the receiver. We are Iggy Pop diving into the crowd and Whitman standing still surveying the fields and constellations. We are the beep and bell of the old arcade and the popping blue and orange lights that
bleed out from the summer fairground’s horizon. We are the third line-hitting line- working line and we are jumping the bench and into a brawl without hesitation. We are the birds on the wire in late October dusk when the wind has subsided and the sky is pregnant with a new storm. We are the quiet summits, loams, and wildflowers enveloped in the witching hour. We are charms and talismans and an oracle. We are a medicine wheel and a sacred cross and a whirling dervish. We are steel, dirt, rust, chrome, and the air over the tide and shore and more. We are a cherry neon glow casting itself on palm leaves and the grinding smashing audio sum of broken metal and gears. We are Dave Tiger Williams writing the letters NHL across the pages of his high school career aptitude test. We are laced up, tied together, out of our seats and onto the playing fields, theater and arena of page. We are the infrastructure, intersection, and displayed and vibrant array and arsenal of something that comes up from the chakras, down from the firmament, and out of the ether. We are Bougainvillea Road. GUIDELINES
