You guys, if I could share only one single food-related recommendation right now, it would be this: keep eating meals. 🍱🍝

For many of us, being home 24/7 and trying to cope with all the things can easily lead to over-snacking. 🥨🍨

I can’t even tell you how many times in the past few months I’ve found myself wandering to my fridge or pantry and just looking inside, trying to figure out what my next snack will be. I know that this is more out of boredom than actual hunger, even if I sometimes try to convince myself otherwise. When my normal meal time finally rolls around, I don’t feel hungry enough for a full meal and decide to skip it (which then leads to even more snacking afterwards) and the vicious cycle continues.

Try scheduling when your meal times will be and stick to your schedule! Having a full meal will leave you feeling full longer and help bring a little bit of normalcy and structure to your day.

Will and I are starting some new traditions: takeout on Friday nights and homemade pizza on Sunday nights. These are by no means elaborate, overly healthy or fancy plans, but it gives us a bit more structure to our week and it means there are two evening meals we don’t need to worry about planning. (Hands up if suppers are your most time-consuming meals to plan and prepare 🙋🏻‍♀️). Bonus is we are also able to support local businesses by ordering takeout from some of our favourite restaurants!

It can be so easy to find yourself consumed by all of the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping and get-togethers this time of year. 🛍

Even though I absolutely love celebrating the holidays, in the back of my mind there is always some sense of stress that becomes more and more prominent as the days tick by.

I’ve been reading so many incredible articles lately about minimizing stress and being more intentional (my personal mantra for 2019) before, during and after the holiday season. After all, the holidays are meant to be fun, right?

The idea that has resonated with me the most and that I plan on carrying with me for the next few weeks is knowing when to stop. 🛑

🥧 Knowing when to stop eating or drinking before I go overboard.

📆 Knowing when to stop making plans before my calendar gets too full.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all of our fellow Canadians! For those of you trying to make healthier choices, you might be unsure of how to approach a Thanksgiving feast. Our top tips?
1. Remember why you are there. Holidays aren't all about the food (even though it can feel that way sometimes). This is quality time with family and friends - soak up every second!
2. Decide what's worth it (and what might not be). Momma's homemade pecan pie? Sign me up! Store-bought brownies that I know aren't my favorite but still looking tempting just because they are on a plate in front of me? Maybe I'll pass on those.
3. and Pour yourself a nice big glass of water while you socialize and load up your plate with awesome veggies and salads. This year I'm adding a medley of roasted veggies to my table! (Bonus, you won't feel as bloated as you might be used to after a huge, heavy meal)

Set your intentions now and remind yourself of your "why". This year I'm choosing to reflect on just how far I have come! I have lost the equivalent of these 7 turkeys and am giddy thinking about the beets I'm going to roast this weekend. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Who would have thought! °
