Over the next fee days we will be sharing more about who we are and what we do as a publishing house, but we wanted to start off with something we are really proud of - the fact that we are a worker’s co-operative.

What that means is that as fellow creators and writers, we democratically decide how we run the publishing house, how we enact our values, and build a supportive experience for our authors. It also means are in service to our communities and each other rather than capital.

There is a growing network of worker’s co-operatives in so-called Canada that we are happy to be a part of!

Trail Creek is focused on publishing works from British Columbians though we are excited to hear from authors living and working throughout Canada. Reflective of the diversity of creators around us, we strive to publish works from as diverse a group of writers as well as publishing works by both established and emerging creators.⁠

Trail Creek is a broad-based publisher with strengths in commercial fiction, narrative or creative nonfiction. Our team has expertise in areas of history, graphic novels, Indigenous rights and land in BC, experimental poetry, and genre fiction to support works in those areas. ⁠

We are so excited to be here! After a year of working away in the background, we are so excited to meet you all publicly!

The Trail Creek Publishing House is a worker cooperative based in the beautiful West Kootenay region of British Columbia. All of us who work at Trail Creek are creators and writers ourselves, meaning we are dedicated to building a supportive and writer-centered publishing experience.

Trail Creek is dedicated to bringing works to market that are going to succeed. We believe the content we publish will add richness and depth to the lives of our readers. We seek out stories and perspectives that reflect the diversity of readers and creators we connect with. We actively seek submissions from creators whose perspectives and stories reflect the interests and realities of working class people.
