Baby Bump Watch - Ginger

How can you not love this face? Pregnant Ginger arrived as part of a colony our friends at Sammy's Forgotten Felines have been rescuing outside of Kamloops. So far, we have welcomed 17 of these beauties at the RAPS Cat Sanctuary since April this year. The majority are orange in color and semi-feral. Our staff and volunteers are feeling however, with love and patience, these kitties will slowly come around and realize bipeds aren’t that scary after all.

Fortunately, Ginger is the only one of the females who arrived that is pregnant. Our RAPS Animal Hospital veterinarians discovered she was in the early stages of pregnancy during her intake exam. As she was so early along, it was difficult to determine how many kittens she is carrying. For now, Ginger is resting and into the last days of her pregnancy in the comfort of her foster home. We expect babies will be born in about ten days or so. Keep an eye open for their birth announcement and updates. Good luck sweet Ginger.

Thanks to the tremendous generosity of local pet food suppliers and the general public, any extra donated pet food that can’t be used to feed our own RAPS’ animals is added to our Pet Food Bank. If you can use some help in feeding your dog or cat family members, please email [email protected] / [email protected] / [email protected] to make an appointment to pick up your food. Our Pet Food Bank is located at the Richmond Auto Mall at 205 – 13340 Smallwood Place – the same location at the RAPS Animal Hospital, RAPS Adoption Centre & RAPS Admin Office.
