It’s Thankful Thursday 🙏🩷

I am SUPER thankful and beyond excited to be going to see this guy once again at Ford Field on Saturday 🤠🎤🎶

Kenny Chesney has always been a favourite of mine and I have lost track how many times I have seen him.

These photos are from 2009 when he took my personalized license plate CHSNYFAN 😃. (I wanted him to sign it, but he took it for himself 😂) Apparently he has an entire wall at his home filled with license plates he got at his concerts.

Getting to do this again with my kids and cousins is going to be the best day!! Love making memories like this!

It’s Wisdom Wednesday 🎯

This is going to be a bit of a vulnerable post.

When I saw this photo, it completely depicts how I feel I have lived my life for the past~I don’t even know how many years🤦🏻‍♀️

I recently completed Step 4 (Al-Anon)which is:
“Made a searching and fearless, moral inventory of ourselves”. It forced me to have a real deep dive into who I am. It brought so many things to the surface and to light for me- more “ah ha moments” then I can count.

One of the biggest things I realized is that I always seem to be trying to protect myself from others. It doesn’t matter what the relationship was or who it was with. Whether it be a close friend, a family member, a coworker, an acquaintance, or a romantic relationship, if I thought there was a chance of getting hurt, or rejection, a wall went up.

What I’ve come to learn, is that this is very common in someone who has been affected by another persons addiction 🫤 It does not matter if that person is no longer in active addiction. The character defects and traits that I picked up during that time, became a part of who I am from childhood to adulthood.

Since November I have answered hundreds of questions going all the way back to my childhood. This has helped me to recognize the patterns, the behaviours, and the limiting beliefs that I had about myself and what I deserve in this life.

It also forced me to recognize some good traits about myself as well, and realize that it’s not all negative.

I am slowly tearing the wall down brick by brick, and mending relationships.
Healing is a wonderful thing. Taking responsibility for my actions instead of finger pointing is growth 🙌🏻

I am so incredibly thankful ❤️🙏

The days of talking about other women in a negative light needs to end.
The new way is reaching out, supporting, uplifting and empowering women ❤️

Listen…we are all in this life together, so why not help each other along the way! Life is so much better when you drop the gossiping, criticism and negativity.

Instead of judging, let’s pray for that woman and what she might be going through.
You just may find yourself in her shoes one day.

It’s Wisdom Wednesday 🎯

Let’s show more compassion towards other women instead of judging them. Too often we talk about:

The way she dresses.
How she parents.
What her weight is.
The work she does.
The way she treats her husband/bf.
How much she has to drink.

The only woman you should be really concerned about is the woman you are today compared to yesterday. Who are you? Are you being authentic? Are you living your best life?

When you are focusing on being your best self, you don’t have time to be looking around judging others.

Let’s rise up and support each other! Celebrate our achievements no matter how small! When someone is struggling, reach out to them, or better yet, pray for them.
Be a friend instead of talking about them and exposing their faults and weaknesses!

We need to be an example to the younger women in our lives and to each other! If we all do our part, we CAN and WILL make positive changes in this world 🌎

Ok, moving forward Sunday morning is always going to have a “reflection” before we get into the Seint sharings 😀 A little “Sunday Spirituality” if you will… because honestly, I think the world needs more of this ❤️‍🩹

This one is taken from another one of my favourite reflection books, “The Language of Letting Go” by Melody Beattie.

“ I have not gone away child. I am here, always. Rest in me, in confidence. All in your life is being guided and planned, each detail. I know, and I care. Things are being worked out as quickly as possible for your highest good. Trust and be grateful. I am right here. Soon you will see, and know.”

He never leaves us. WE are the ones who have left Him. And guess what? He is always waiting with open arms for our return 🩷

It’s Self-love Saturday 🥰

My insecurities, my defaults, my coping mechanisms, but also recognizing the “good stuff” about me, and being thankful for those gifts God gave me, and for the dreams He has put in my heart ❤️

This Saturday I am going to see George Strait, Chris Stapleton & Little Big Town at Ford Field with Averey & Cam. (Syd has to work 😢)

I absolutely love being able to share these moments with my adult children. Thank you God for blessing us and giving us these beautiful days together 🩷

It’s Wisdom Wednesday 🎯

The book I just recently finished called “Believe It” was amazing and I recommend it for anyone looking for inspiration, women empowerment, and spirituality❤️

This is a snip it from the book and I wholeheartedly agree with Jamie Kern Lima,

“We have a great responsibility to change the environment around us that robs women of the confidence to step into the game imperfectly. As women, many of us end up sitting on the sidelines of life, and the sidelines of our dreams, because we feel unready, or unqualified, or not enough. So many women are still so critical of themselves (guilty 🙋🏻‍♀️)and other women. And this just holds us all back. We need to have grace for each other. We need to lift each other up and celebrate each other.”

WOW!!🙌 Truth right there!!

Let’s do our part! Let’s carry this message in our own lives and to the women who surround us.

These sold out in four hours and once we got our hands on them, we were begging Seint to bring them back, and they listened🩷

It’s Wisdom Wednesday 🎯

On Monday evening (Canada Day) my girls and I went to the movies to see Inside Out 2.

Now you might be thinking, why would you go with your daughters to see that movie (it’s animated) when they are 23 and 21 years old? They were actually the ones who told me about it🩷

If I’m being honest, I shed some tears, especially when the emotion “anxiety” was out of control and showing how it affects a person. I could 💯relate.

The moral of the story is we can’t let our emotions control us or determine who we are, and we aren’t defined by memories, but rather by a deep sense of who we know ourselves to be💛

I would recommend this movie for anyone ages 13 and older. It is moving and another reminder that we all have struggles we are dealing with.

Did you know that each time you show up inauthentically, or as the person you think will make other people happy you tell yourself you’re unworthy as your true self 🤯

Think about that for a moment!

Why do we change who we really are to be accepted by others? If someone can’t accept the real you, then perhaps they shouldn’t have the opportunity to be a part of your life.

Show up as yourself. Don’t change. Don’t hide. Stop wasting time.
You only have this ONE life, so make the most of it and shine bright 😀

Life update: Sometimes you have to change your priorities, and since last November I have been really working on ME! Looking at myself and figuring out why I am the way I am is not an easy job. There were lots of tears 😢 and so many ah-ha moments 🤔I know this is only the beginning! I have so far yet to go! Don’t ever give up on yourself! At 51 years old I’m learning the hard lessons. There is hope. There is healing. And there is recovery. XOTammy 🫶🏻

It's Wisdom Wednesday🎯

We all have a purpose that we are called to- the question so many have, is how do I know what mine is?

First thing to ask yourself is what sets your soul on fire 🔥 What are you absolutely passionate about? If money was never an issue for the rest of your life, how would you want to spend your time and with who? Asking yourself these questions is the beginning to unlocking the answer 🔐

✨Did you know that things happen to us so that we can guide others through the same problem? Whether that be divorce, grief, loss of a loved one, a horrific childhood- whatever it may be. When you have had that kind of pain, loss and struggle then that experience gives you a very unique perspective. You can help in ways that others can't.

We all have something to give because every single one of us has been through things. God brought you out of it so that you could help someone else come through it and shine as well.

So who can you help today? One of the greatest feelings in the world is knowing you have made a difference in someone's life 🥰

The past four years have been a journey of finding my true self.

I have learnt a lot, grown, and made some changes in my life. I am proud of the work I have done so far, but I know I will never stop changing and trying to be a better person than I was the day before.

Step by step, getting out of my comfort zone and digging a little deeper will keep me on the right path❤️

The journey of self-discovery hasn’t been the easiest, but it has been very rewarding to understand who I am and areas I want to change.

It’s Thankful Thursday 🩷🙏It has been 11 years since our marriage ended. The photo on the left was our last family photo before our separation. The photo on the right was taken last summer at a graduation party for Averey.Was it hard in the beginning? Yes. But we are and will always be a family 🩷Co-parenting can be difficult at times. You won’t always agree on things or the actions of each other. But over the years I have found these 5 things to be key in promoting a healthy “familyship”.1) prioritize the kids2) communicate effectively 3) be flexible and willing to compromise 4) respect each other’s parenting styles5) have a consistent routine If you are in a place of separation or divorce, it is painful but you will get through it. My biggest advice is put the kids first.
