Would you descend into a lava tube? Nat Geo Explorer Francesco Sauro, along with Tommaso Santagata and Giovanni Rossi from La Venta Esplorazioni Geografiche, did just that after the Fagradalfjall volcano in Iceland erupted for nearly six months.

Here, the speleologists wear protective equipment like masks, suits and air respirators as they explore the new lava cave in an effort to understand its morphology, evolution, minerals and microbial life — all of which have implications in the understanding of planetary lava tubes on Mars and other planetary bodies and their potential for astrobiology.

2,000 year old human torso of an Irish man that was found in a bog back in
June of 2003.
The remains were naturally mummified and preserved so well that scientists were able to even determine his last meal after analyzing the contents of his stomach: wheat and buttermilk. For at least 4 months prior to his death, he was shown to have a meat rich diet.
Based on the length of his arms, he was estimated to have been 6 ft 6 inches (1.98 m) tall which would have been extremely tall for that time period.
According to Oxford University, the average male height around this time was around 165 cm (5 feet 5 inches).
The man also had manicured nails which has led to speculation that he was not engaged in manual labor and was someone of high status.
His body is currently on display at the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin.

On this Truth and Reconciliation Day, we must confront our nation's painful history and commit to doing better. We remember the missing and murdered Indigenous women and the victims of residential schools. It's time to prioritize much needed justice, healing, and support for Indigenous communities. Do better Canada - a day dedicated to remembering these atrocities is not enough, we need policy changes, support, and to listen to the needs and wishes of indigenous communities country-wide.

Join your hosts, Journey, Nicole, and Rebecca, as they learn about twin criminals and explore some fascinating cases of those who've baffled law enforcement. Was it Orlando Nembhard who pulled the trigger? Or his twin brother, Brandon? Without any distinguishable differences, how are law enforcement able to tell who did what?

As the conversation unfolds, our hosts discuss the challenges that forensic science faces in dealing with cases involving identical twins. DNA evidence might seem like a silver bullet, but it's not always foolproof when it comes to distinguishing between twins. We take you through the fascinating world of forensics, shedding light on areas where improvements are needed and the all-too-common faults.

Listener’s discretion is advised as there are discussions that include sexual assault and murder.

This might be one of the most famous images in photographic history.

The first ever X-ray image was taken in 1895 by Wilhelm Röntgen, who was awarded the first Nobel Prize in Physics in 1901.

The image of his wife Bertha's hand (wedding ring clearly visible) propelled Röntgen into an international celebrity. The medical implications were immediately realised. Röntgen named the discovery X-radiation, or X-rays, after the mathematical term 'X', which denotes something unknown.
