Someone close to me HATES photos. So much so, they almost always refuse to take them or delete the ones we do take.

The result?

Very. Few. Options.

Every time we need a photo for something, our options are so slim we wind up picking the same two photos.

As I've said to them many times, "if you took more photos, there'd be more to choose from even if you didn't like some."

Volume is the cure to pickiness.

Now take this and apply it to your content. If you're feeling picky or like nothing is ever great, VOLUME is your answer.

Produce more. Try more. Experiment in excess.

Not only will you have more to choose from, but you will get better at creating what you want in the process.

I rebranded.

After months of not feeling quite right about how everything was looking, I've spent the past month or so trying to come up with a look that I feel evokes the "HD" brand more.

When I first thought of starting HD several years ago, I wanted a more retro feel.

To make a very long story short, every iteration I tried in the fall/winter that was "retro" filled me with doubt. Against my gut, I chose to go with something more modern and streamlined.

The result is that making content has been a chore and I haven't really been able to execute the vision as I wanted because, well, it wasn't my vision.

Recently when showing a dear friend of mine the updated branding and telling her this story, she said "I think there's a lesson about gut feelings in there somewhere".

And that's all I'm taking this as. A lesson to trust your gut.

I have other projects that are more "sleek" and I love working on them, but that was just never the essence for Hann Digital.

So coming to you shortly: an updated, more colourful iteration of my company!
