Our first camping of 2023!

We started yard cleaning last weekend. This was the first phase of cleaning, the front yard which has so much leaves from last fall. We wait until the ground is dry before we start cleaning.
Mj & Adam love helping us! We collected the dry twigs so it won't go to the lawn mower. Then we made campfire out of the twigs we got. If we stay living rural we got to get them ready and teach them these things so they will get the hang of it. So far they are learning fast and having fun at the same time☺️ Happy weekend everyone! #

Walking to the bus stop
at our street, Mj was asking me how many more days til we go camping and I said depends on the weather on how fast the snow melts. Then she started telling me stories of our camping routine and my heart just melt. She remembers every little thing, and very detailed🥹🥹

MJ: Mama i can't wait to drive to our site, wake up and have a morning walk to the beach then come back with your yummy breakfast. Cook again those bacon and eggs Mama. Then play and walk to the beach again and go swimming then me and Adam playing and hunting for some frogs and ants. Then Daddy bbqing supper then we start our campfire and snuggle and stories and have chips and smore's. How many more days again Mama?🥹🥹

Can't believe how much those little things meant so much to them. Also they have been asking us the same question the entire winter🤣Adam asks his Daddy same question everyday🤣🤣🤣

Just enjoying a warmer weather! Spring has finally arrived and snow is melting quick. Couldn't be more happier!☺️Here are the kids enjoying the last snow days before it become muddy puddles🤣

It's a beautiful day to be out and have some fresh air. Temp is -11C, day something ++ of Spring 🤣😂 but nothing can stop my kids from havjng fun! My kids are used to this weather, this Momma not really😂 Schools here give kids outdoor recess even if it's winter, and i think that is a great idea! Outdoors is always a good idea except ofcourse when it's -40😂. Happy thursday!

Have you tried making a campfire
during winter or early Spring?
It's one of our favorite thing to do since camping season is over😅
There is something so relaxing about watching the wood burn and feeling the warmth of the fire.

Thursday morning walk and we found fresh prints in our backyard😳either from human or a bigger animal I am not sure but it sure is new cos it snowed yesterday and we didn't go to the yard yet until this morning😬

Snow storm.
Half of the year here in Manitoba is winter, long cold 6 months and when you get lucky you will also get hit by a snow storm. But hey only 96 days before Summer😉 Before that let me show you this video two days after we had snow storm.
My kids always find time to have fun even with 3 ft tall snow pile in our front yard😅

💞 This was our first year getting the seasonal, everyday after supper and barbequed some burgers we come here to sit, swim or just soak our feet on the water while watching the sunset.

Spring break in two weeks and hoping for these snow to melt very soon so we can get things ready for camping. We usually camp very early even if the roads are still muddy we don't mind. Can't wait to make campfires and sip a hot tea while telling my kids another Filipino myth.

📍Ancient Mountains Black Lake.
Do you have a favorite brand of hiking shoes?
I got this North face hiking shoes in 2017 and still in good shape up to now. I am looking for a new one but not too expensive lol😅
Mind you we hiked almost every day when we camp, and we camp every weekend with a minimum of 3km/hike, yes with kids too but these shoes needs to take a break😅

Yurt camping in Child's Lake, Duck Mountain Provincial park.
These yurts are spacious and comfortable. They have electric outlets to charge phones or to cook rice so yes you can bring your rice cooker kabayan! We got a lake view yurt with lots of privacy, ours is yurt #5 which is separated from 1-4 by this cute little bridge. It also has a trail going to the beach area. It's so worth it to book a yurt especially if you have kids and you need more space! Happy camping guys😊 This is where you can book campsites & yurts in Manitoba. Enjoy!

September 2016, Nutimik Campground, our very first camping trip. Mj is turning 5 months old and I was very skeptical to go cause I haven't done real camping before(except in grade 3 during our girl's scout school camping lol),worried because we have a little one. But that weekend was perfect, everything went so well, Mj didn't even cry once. She loves the nature, when we went hiking she is so alert and always end up having a nap cause of the fresh air. Ofcourse, it's all because of Daddy, gotta give him the credit haha he did all the work from cooking to washing bottles and being the tour guide! I remember our first meal was Filipino bbq, rice and grilled potatoes. It was also very convenient as we rented a beautiful yurt. So nice and comfy, It has a bunk bed with double beds. A sofabed, very nice dining table and cupboards.
