Another moment of just enjoying what nature has to offer. For someone who is always on the go. I was jogging and had to stop to take a deep breathe and look at how magnificent nature is in it's effortless ways.

Vitamin D deficiency is more common than we know it. Some of the symptoms could be:
💥 Feeling weak.
💥Tire easily.
💥Muscle aches / cramps.
💥Joint / bone pain.
💥Inflammation.
💥 Getting sick easily and frequently.
💥 Low mood.
And so much more.
To ensure you get enough vitamin D, go out and get some sun, at least 15 minutes a few times a day.
Some food with vitamin D includes:
✅Mackerel
✅Salmon
✅Milk
✅Shiitake mushroom
✅Dairy products
✅Oyster
✅Food that are fortified with vitamin D in it.
Pair it with food like avocado to increase absorption since Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin. Make sure to get plenty of magnesium as it will help with absorption as well.
You may need to do blood work and see what your level is. And if unable to get it from whole natural food sources, a supplement may be needed.

A good source of nutrients to help you relax and may help with lowering blood pressure. Say hello to basil. This is one of my favourite herbs.

This herb has potassium, magnesium, vitamin A, K, C, and so much more. Lots of phytonurtients the body can benefit from.

Eat it raw with salads, cook it with your tomato sauce, add a little flavour to your meat dishes or dressing... mmm. Delicious and refreshing.

Who else is a mom and struggle with their kids' eczema? As a mom of 2, it's frustrating to see my kids suffer from interrupted sleep, itchiness, irritability, skin break down from their eczema. This is what I did, the natural way, to eliminate their eczema. This requires a change in the way we think about the food we feed our kids and how it is related to eczema and other illnesses. This might be helpful for the moms out there who are struggling with the same issue.

Which one would you rather have, chocolate or fruits? What do you think will satisfy your cravings more?

--> Women are more likely to eat chocolate and sweets compare to men.
--> Because of their estrogen and progesterone hormone, it creates craving for sweet for women.
--> Cravings can be a sign of underlying inflammation affecting our hormones. Making us want to reach for the high processed sugary snacks.
--> What people don't know about high calorie low nutrient food (such as the ones on your left hand side of the picture), is that it tends to rob our body of more nutrients in the process of breaking it down. While we think it is satisfying in the moment, it wears off quickly, making us wanting more. That's because our cells doesn't get the nutrients it needs from the sugary snacks. This makes the craving cycle worse.
--> What do you do with cravings? You eat the chocolate!!! Just kidding. Here's what to try first. Eat your fruits first, if you are not allergic to nuts. Try a few Brazilian nuts, walnuts, or pumpkin seeds. See how that feels. And if you are still not satisfy, go ahead, have your sweet and eat it too.
--> Keep on eating your fruits first one at a time. You'll start to develop a habit for better quality food over time.

How many of you feel it's always the same bread, cereal, milk, eggs, oatmeal, or bacon that you are having for breakfast? I used to have them because of convenience.

Well, you know you are the one to create the breakfast for a champion right?
I'm sharing some of the breakfasts I have (may look more like dinner to some of you lol).

#1. Pineapple lamb, koralbi leaf, rice, watermelon, and grapes
#2. Chicken wings, rice, my homemade guacamole dressing, kobacha soup paste, rapini, and carrot, daikon radish, mint salad.
#3. Chicken thigh, rice, lettuce, zucchini, and purple cabbage.

Longevity ingredients that taste delicious. Good for the body and relaxing for the mind.
Each year I'm blessed to have these fresh and delicious greens during the spring and summer. Thanks to my parents who still think they live in Vietnam. 😁. They understand the key to staying healthy is through a variety of food in it's whole form.

For seasoning:
Basil, dill, parsley, cilantro, perilla, green onions, or mint.

Cruciferous variation that's good for liver detox:
Green, purple, or Dinosaur kale.
Other greens for detox: Green mustard. Pea sprouts.

Daily basics:
Red, green lettuce.

Asian flavour:
Winter melon (great for soup).

These are great sources of flavour, fiber, and fabulous nutrients your gut, liver, and pancreas will thank you for.

Let me know if you are having trouble getting more greens in. I have some tricks I use on my kids and now they love their vegetables.

Having trouble making a healthy habit stick? Some tips that work for me:
1. Hire a cute videographer, you couldn't help but smile during your work out. 😍😄Just the mere fact of being around people who are more fit or healthy makes you want to be healthier as well.

2. It's a philosophy of life. Think about a way of living rather than just a way of getting the immediate gratification. For example, long-term quality of life with little or no medication needed. Rather than thinking only about getting into shape for that party, vacation, wedding, etc.

3. Bring a buddy/partner so you can have fun exercising. When you add fun, it makes it easier to continue that habit.

4. Listen to motivating music / speech while exercising. Push it just one more set.

5. Commit to a purpose that is meaningful for you. Whatever people value, they'll put attention and effort to.

6. Make no excuses. Even when you don't feel like doing it. Do it anyways.
