For the mom who have children with eczema. If you are thinking this, you're not alone. I used to think Cheerios (especially the multigrain ones) was "healthy".
What I didn’t know, my ignorance, caused my kids health issues. I thought I was a failure as a mom when my kid's sleep kept on getting interrupted. She was constantly itching and scratching her eczema elbows at night. And the eczema flare up kept on getting worse and worse. Along with that, there allergies symptoms increased as well.
Fed up, I decided to start to learn more and made adjustments to their diet. It's funny how we think wheat is the sole cause, but it could be more than just that. It could be the effects of accumulated toxin or pesticide such as glyphosate.
It could also be the lack of nutrients. Processed foods like the "healthy" cereals have multiple additives, preservatives, et cetera. Is more likely to be not only inflammatory, nutrient depleting, can disrupt our hormones, gut, and immune system.
It's no wonder the eczema was irritating.
Simple steps I used:
Proper nutrition for my kids.
Involve them, encourage self-care and making decision about their health.
Coming up with alternatives that are tasty and more nutritious that they love.
Help them understand why certain food will give them.

Why do I want to share this? Because I personally experienced it and seen other women go through the same issue. It's a lifestyle choice and not just the # on the scale.

How 1 day at a time lead to this 1 year accomplishment/health journey of mine...
I didn't think I could make it through this 365 days fitness challenge when I first started. But I just take it 1 day at a time, enjoy the process. Instead of getting so hung up on the goal, I learn how to enjoy the journey in between.
The understand is in order to be healthy, I have to take the steps needed today. And in doing so, I can become better, learn more about myself, build self-discipline, better habits, etc. And somehow, it's now day 364 and I have 1 more day to go.
If you ever decide to get healthier either by sleeping better, learning how to deal with stressors, eat more wholesome meals, become more fit, or just wanting to a better person... whatever it may be, you just have to start today, 1 day at a time, and think of it as a progression. You are moving to a better version of you each and everyday. So don't give up on whatever it is that is important to you.

ARE WE F@CKED OR WHAT? By 2035, more than 50% of THE WORLD'S population will be obese. That is some sick stat they are predicting. And most will likely get diabetes or some kind of metabolic disorder.
Here is how to eat your way out of obesity and diabetes. This is a common lifestyle habit I notice after reading books, researchs, talking to others who reversed their illness, and helped my mom get off her diabetes medication.
Being an ER nurse, I have seen in others, the annoying pain in the butt, how obesity and diabetes can be for them. Because diabetes can lead to:
❗️high blood pressure
❗️heart diseases
❗️poor wound healing
❗️kidney diseases
❗️stroke
❗️blood clot
❗️nerve pain
❗️fertility issues
❗️increase medical bills
❗️poor quality of life
❗️dementia
❗️poor mental health
❗️low energy
❗️erectile dysfunction
❗️wasting hours waiting at doctor's office or the ER when you could be spending time doing other activities you enjoy.
Yikes, the list is long enough even though there is more.
I want to bring more awareness to anyone who is having trouble losing weight and have diabetes type 2. You don't have to be on medications forever and you can reverse the illness with some lifestyle changes. And just because your parents have diabetes doesn't mean you will get it too. There are things you can do to prevent you from getting it.
✅️ Eat more whole foods.
✅️ Reduce refined sugar / processed foods.
✅️ Exercise regularly, 4-5 times a week.
✅️ Get better sleep at night.

You'll have to drink about 8 glasses of milk to get the daily recommended vitamin D. I highly don't suggest you do that because you'll be at risk of overloading on calcium and get a kidney stone.
Vitamin D deficiency is more common than we know it. Some of the symptoms could be:
💥 Feeling weak.
💥Tire easily.
💥Muscle aches / cramps.
💥Joint / bone pain.
💥Inflammation.
💥 Getting sick easily and frequently.
💥 Low mood.
And so much more.
To ensure you get enough vitamin D, go out and get some sun, at least 15 minutes a few times a day.
Some food with vitamin D includes:
✅Mackerel
✅Salmon
✅Milk
✅Shiitake mushroom
✅Dairy products
✅Oyster
✅Food that are fortified with vitamin D in it.
Pair it with food like avocado to increase absorption. Make sure to get plenty of magnesium as it will help with absorption as well.
You may need to do blood work and see what your level is. And if unable to get it from whole natural food sources, a supplement may be needed.
