If you could go ahead and like this post, that would be tigerrific! 🐯

If you've followed for a while, you may already know my girls LOVE little mandarin oranges, and that I love to use them at snack time! This little food art tiger was quick and easy to make using two peeled mandarins, some cake decorating sprinkles for whiskers, a Smartie for the nose, and some candy eyeballs. To draw on the stripes, I spooned some Nutella into a piping bag with a plain small tip (you can use a ziplock bag and snip the corner off). I gave our tiger a bit of a jungle surrounding made from snap peas and cucumber slices, which is optional.

If you think the little one in your life would love this snack idea, don't forget to save this post for easy reference and try your own version soon!

Stop here for the ultimate Mother's Day breakfast idea! 👇🏽👇🏽

Last year, I'd made this first plate a week ahead of time to post for Mother's Day. It was a food art portrait of my daughters and I together, and I thought it was really sweet. Imagine my surprise on Mother's Day morning when I woke up to this absolutely precious version that my then-7-year-old had made ALL BY HERSELF!

For the ultimate sweet Mother's Day breakfast idea, make a "family portrait" style plate with your kids (or let them do it themselves if they're older). My girls couldn't have been prouder to surprise me with this plate last year... the look on their little faces when they set this down for me was the best part of my whole day!

Need help figuring out ingredients? Drop your questions in the comments. Don't forget to save this one for easy reference if you plan to give it a try this weekend!

Gotta catch 'em all!

This fun kids Pokémon food art is made using three toasted waffles, one for the head, one for the body, and then one to cut up for the ears and tail. Next, I dipped the tips of each ear in Nutella to get the dark ends, and added two brown Smarties for the eyes and two red Smarties for the rosy cheeks. I added a small snip of marshmallow to be the white part of the eyes and used a chocolate chip for the nose. To make the Pokéball thinger, I used a Babybel cheese but only unwrapped the wax from half. I drew a line using Nutella in a piping bag along the wax line, then stuck on one candy eyeball. I used the Nutella to add the mouth, and the Pikachu was complete!

Hot diggity dog! Would your kids say yay or nay to this one?!

I'm pretty sure my kids would live on hot dogs if I let them, so this fun little lunch on the weekend was absolutely a hit with them. All you need for this is one cooked hot dog and something to use for eyes!

TO MAKE:
Cut a cooked hot dog lengthwise, and lay one half flat side down to be the body. Using the other half, cut it 1-2 inches from the end to become the head. The rounded end will be the nose, so you'll lay it at one end of the hot dog body with the rounded end pointed down. Using the other rounded end of the hot dog, cut it off about half an inch from the rounded end and then slice that lengthwise... this will give you two ears. You'll be left with about half a hot dog at this point, and you'll want to take about five thin slices from it, all about the same width. These will become the four feet and the tail. Once your dog is assembled, add some eyeballs and you're all set. We used mini candy eyeballs (dabbed in peanut butter for glue) but mini chocolate chips or raisins would work, or if you have food pick eyes for bento lunches, those would work well too!

Don't be crabby... hit that ♥️ button!

The cutest food doesn't have to be complicated, and this plate is the perfect example of that! This adorable little crab plate is as cute as they come, but quick enough for any busy parent to make, and simple enough to be your very first try at food art!

TO MAKE:
- Start with a toasted waffle, and then add legs. I used clementine segments for this one, but strips of absolutely anything will work... apple, strawberry, bacon... choose whatever works best for your family!
- Next, add eyes. I used a slice of banana for each, with a blueberry on top for the pupils.
- For the pinchy little hands, I cut one babybel cheese in half to have two rounds, then cut a small triangle from each. I used licorice for the arms as well as the smile.

Saved this post? You know you wanna check that off, too! ✨️

These little porkers were definitely quick and simple, which is kind of my specialty! We started with our favorite round crackers and then added Boursin cheese to each one. Using one strawberry, I cut the stem part off and then two more round slices to be the snouts on each, then turned the berry and cut slices the other way to be the ears. I added two small blueberries as eyes, two mini chocolate chips as nostrils, and a pretzel each for the "arms" and legs.

Is this little sheep snack cute enough to earn a "like" from ewe?! ❤️🐑❤️

This snack is a quick and simple one to make, and it's perfect for any time of day. I put the banana slices on top of a toasted English muffin with peanut butter, making it easy for my daughter to pick up and eat. The ears are peanuts, and I added candy eyeballs, and cake decorating sprinkles as the nostrils and mouth. The flower stems/leaves are cut from a slice of kiwi each, and the bloom is strawberry. They really add a nice pop of color and fill up the plate a bit, and it's easy to add as many or as few as you like.

What do you think... wool you be making this one soon?!

‼️ The biggest myth about fresh fruits is that they're just not exciting for kids. I'm here to tell you that is FALSE, especially if you spend a minute or two on the presentation!

If you've followed Cute Food For Kids for a while, you may have caught my strawberry pinwheel flowers earlier this spring... they were a huge hit! This blackberry version is even easier and quicker as there is no slicing involved to make the petals. The centers are Babybel cheese... one cheese makes two centers if you cut it in half. The tulips are made from one strawberry... cut off the stem end, cut the berry in half lengthwise, and then cut two tiny triangles out of the other end. The stems on the strawberry tulips are pretzels, and the stems on the blackberry flowers are chocolate pocky sticks.

The butterflies, which are always a fan favorite, are just as quick and easy to make. Each wing is a mandarin segment, the body is a broken bit of pretzel, and the antennae are cake decorating sprinkles. Top tip - if your sprinkles need help staying put on the plate, drop them in a dab of peanut butter first... if it acts as edible glue so they don't slide around.

Somebody has to say it...
Is this not the cutest Easter toast you've seen all day?!

Banana on toast is one of my favorite breakfasts... it's tasty, but also one of the simplest little things to put together! This one features a baby chick and a little bunny, but you could do two of the same on your toast if you find one cuter than the other.

TO MAKE:
The banana chick takes three slices of banana. Place two of them on the toast to become the head and the body, then cut the third slice in half. Place one half on each side of the body banana to become little wings. Using a small carrot, slice off three rounds. Cut a little zig-zag off one side of two of the carrot slices, then lay them ziggy-zaggy end up on the bottom banana slice... these become the little feet! Cut the third carrot slice into a triangle and add it to the "head" banana, point pointing down. Lastly, add some eyes... I used mini candy eyeballs on this one, but mini chocolate chips, raisins, tiny blueberries, or cake decorating sprinkles work well! 🐥

The bunny takes three slices of banana, PLUS the very tip of the banana (leave the tip about an inch long before making your first slice). Two become the head and body, and the third one will be cut in half and used for the arms. Take the tip piece and cut it in half lengthwise, then cut an ear from each side (don't overthink this part... it sounds daunting, but it kind of just works out!). Lastly, dig out your cake decorating sprinkles and find some long straight pieces for whiskers, something bigger and rounder for the nose, and a small curved piece for the mouth. I used candy eyeballs, but small round sprinkles work well for the eyes as well!

Bananas and bread are staple items in most households, I think, making this one a great last-minute snack to try for the kids this weekend! Be sure to save this post for easy reference if you think you'll be trying your own version!

If you could go ahead and like this post, that would make me really HOPPY! 🐰

Make snacktime an adventure with this simple fruit plate, sure to bring the biggest smile to the faces of the littles in your life. Each piece of this one is so simple to recreate, but the overall picture is such a beauty!

TO MAKE:
For the bunny, you'll need two mandarins or clementines. The bunny butt is one full peeled mandarin, and then you'll break the second peeled mandarin in half. One half will be the head, and then with the second half, you'll peel off two full segments, one for each ear. Take a third segment and cut it into thirds. Pop the middle cut segment straight in your mouth... you don't need this one! Take the two rounded end chunks and set them cut side down onto the plate to be the little feet. To finish the bunny, all you need to do is add a tail. A mini marshmallow works great and is quick and easy, but you can use anything round-ish, like a raspberry or blackberry.

For each flower, choose a couple strawberries that are a similar size and shape, cut the green end off, and then thinly slice the berry. You'll need five or six slices for each flower. You'll lay them down in a pinwheel with pointed ends out, and when you get to the last petal, use a fork or the tip of your paring knife to pick up the corner of the very first petal... you want to tuck the corner of the last petal underneath the corner of the first petal to make a continuous pinwheel (so every berry has one side on top and one tucked under the petal beside it). Place a blueberry (or a blackberry or round candy) in the center of each flower, and then all you need is a stem. I used thinly sliced cucumber for our stems and leaves, and added a row of sliced kiwi to the bottom as grass.

I am pretty darn happy with how this one turned out, and I really hope you love it too! Be sure to hit the ❤️ if you enjoy this one, and save this post for easy reference if you plan to try this one at home!

Looking for a quick, easy, cute Easter breakfast idea? Don't worry, I got you!

This bunny butt pancake idea is simple enough for absolutely anyone, cute enough to delight your little ones at breakfast, and quick enough that it'll only take a couple extra minutes to style! 🥳

TO MAKE:
For each bunny, start with one larger pancake and two smaller ones that are a similar size and shape. Lay the big one on your plate, then the two smaller ones on the bottom edge to become the feet.
- For the little foot pads, add something in a contrasting color... I used a slice of strawberry, but raspberries, blueberries, sliced apple, or Smarties would work well, too! Lay one in the center of each bunny foot.
- Next, add a little cotton tail... I used a marshmallow (mini marshmallow for the baby bunnies), cut it in half, and stuck it near the top of the larger pancake. A dollop of whipped cream is a great substitute!
- You can stop here and your bunnies will already be adorable, or you can be extra and add some ears. I used thin bits of bacon, but you could use almost anything... even more pancake!

If you find these bunny butt pancakes to be super cute, then I'd like you to do two things;
1. Hop on up and hit the ❤️ on this cutie, and
2. Come back again tomorrow, because it's time and the theme will be bunny butts! I'll be sharing bunny butt inspo to my stories all day, made by fellow members of the food art community, so you won't want to miss the best of them gathered all in one place! Literally anyone can be an artist! I've said this often, and I believe it 100%. These three great snacks were made recently by my daughters, who are 6 and 8. Aren't they adorable?!

So often I have people in the comments of my posts saying they need simpler ideas so they can try them... I hope this post is proof that food art is for absolutely anyone of any age!

Which one of these three snacks would you be reaching for today?

Here are my top three tips for minimizing mealtime complaints from kids...

1. Get them involved.
2. Get them involved.
3. GET THEM INVOLVED!

I want to stress that I am not a nutritionist/dietitian, just a "regular mom" who found that getting my kids involved with the meal prep and planning helps mitigate their complaining by at least 90% 🤣🤣

This weekend, I made a variety of pancakes in random shapes for my kids to create with, and they had so much fun crafting Easter breakfasts for our family. I give them full creative license with the extra ingredients they need at this point, but if you're just starting out, set out the ingredients you want to serve, then have your kids create their masterpieces using those ingredients.

Tomorrow is the children's day of the Easter so if your kids make an Easter snack or meal and would like to participate, I'd love to share their work in my stories tomorrow (use the special hashtag and tag when you post it, or DM me a photo if you have a private account).

Which of these beautiful Easter creations is your favorite? Let me know in the comments... my girls love it when I read them the kind words their cute food receive. 🥰

Save this post so you don't miss the excitement! As promised, there will be some fun coming your way next week. Everyone is welcome to participate!

Monday is children's day, where I'd love to share any Easter-themed goodies made by your child (any age). If you have a public profile, you can enter by tagging my account and using the special hashtag when you post the photo to your feed or story. If you have a private account, simply DM me a photo of your child's Easter creation, and I'll be sure to share it in my stories.

Thursday is bunny butt day... we did this theme during last years' challenge, and it was the fan favorite by far! Bunny butt snacks are fun because they're so simple to make... instead of having to figure out eyes, nose, and mouth ingredients, you just have to add a tail, making them one of the easiest food art ideas to try!

Will you or your child be joining in the fun next week? I can't WAIT to see what you make!

Fellow foodies, please feel free to share this post in your stories... the more the merrier! 🐰

What people don't realize about feeding kids is this... 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

Making it cute can go such a long way in making your child excited about it, and it requires no more than a couple extra minutes of your time!

This little after-school cheese and crackers snack is deeeeeeeeefinitely one you'll want to save to try later. ✨️

I used a mini gingerbread man cookie cutter to cut the baby chick from a thin slice of cheddar cheese, and then cut the egg shell from a slice of fresh apple. The beak is a triangle of carrot, and the eyes are tiny black cake decorating sprinkles.

The little "carrot" is just as easy to make... I used a Christmas light mini cookie cutter to cut the carrot, then added some sliced cucumber as the carrot stem. For a little extra fun, I added a couple orange cake decorating sprinkles.

This one could easily be made with no cookie cutters at all... a round baby chick would be just as adorable, and have your kids just as impressed, don't you think?!

If this post made you smile today, then don't forget to hit the ❤️ on this one today!

What's up, motherclucker?! 🐔🐥🐤

If you know me, then you'll know I can't pass up a pizza pop (they're like the Canadian version of a hot pocket, only better)! I love to pair them with fresh fruits and veggies so we can have the best of both worlds... enjoying foods we love, like pizza pops, while still getting a full serving of fresh fruits and veggies!

This little lunch is fun and filling, but it's also a quick and easy one to put together (which is what Cute Food For Kids is all about). Be sure to save this post for easy reference so you can make your own version before Easter.

TO MAKE:
To make the mama chicken, start with anything shaped like a semi-circle. I used a pizza pop, but an omelet would work great, or even a round sandwich cut in half! I cut a little beak and feet from carrot, and the comb and tail from slices of strawberry. One candy eyeball completes the mama hen.

To make the baby chicks, you'll need three slices of banana per chick... one slice for the head, one for the body, and one sliced in half for the wings. The feet and beak are cut from carrot, and I used mini candy eyeballs.

TOP TIP: Make as many or as few banana baby chicks as you like, but be sure to serve them quickly. Bananas do start to go downhill fast and won't look very appetizing if you make them in advance. When working with bananas, I always make everything else first and then slice the banana pieces last, snap my pictures, and then serve immediately.

Will you be making this one? You'll be making this one, right? Please tell me you'll be making this one!

How would you rank these rainbow plates?

There's just something so magical about rainbows... I've done quite a few in the past, but here are four of my faves. I'd love to hear how you'd rank these four plates, from first to last!

Rainbow platters are a great way to add some color to snacktime, and a great excuse to serve a bunch of different foods at once.

Somewhere over the rainbow...

There's a little leprechaun wishing he had this for breakfast!

This cute little toast snack is siiiiiiiimple, guys. Start with a piece of toast covered in your favorite spread (we used Nutella), and then grab two Smarties or M&Ms in each color of the rainbow in an arc from one side of your toast. Where the last color ends, fill in the space with mini marshmallows. I cut my marshmallows in half with scissors so they'd be a little flatter and go twice as far!

If you've got a little leprechaun at home who may enjoy this snack, then save this post so you can find it later! If you enjoyed seeing this post pop up today on your feed, please consider sharing it or hitting that "like" button... engaging with my posts is the number one way to make sure content from Cute Food For Kids keeps being shown to you! ♥️

Whos ready to hop headfirst into spring?!

I made this cute little bunny butt snack two years ago, but it's still one of my favorite easter-themed plates. It doesn't get much simpler than this one, making it the perfect place to start if you've never tried your hand at food art!

All you'll need for this snack is one kiwi and two grapes, plus some various cake decorating sprinkles... I guarantee you can find something to work from ANY set of sprinkles you have on hand. Instructions in COMMENTS 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

Creating a new and unique leprechaun for 2024 (check out yesterday's post for a collection of leprechauns from the past three years) was a bit challenging at first, so thanks to for suggesting kiwi and mandarin for this one!

All I can say is... if this little lad isn't cute enough to put a smile on your face today, then I just don't know what is! Please hit the ♥️ and show him some love, and don't forget to save this post if you plan to try your own version before St. Patrick's Day!

1, 2, 3, which will it be? ☘️

Check out these three lucky leprechauns from past seasons... I'd love to hear which you like best, so be sure to have your say in the comments!

Leprechaun 1 is from 2023 and is made from toast, cucumber, and green apple. He has a Cheez Whiz beard.

Leprechaun 2 is from 2022 and is made using mostly green apple. His beard is made from shredded cheddar cheese.

Leprechaun 3 is from 2021 and is made from pancake, with a cucumber hat. His beard is grated carrot, and he has some lucky shamrocks cut from kiwi and cucumber (if you cut four small hearts out of any green food and put the four pointed ends together, you'll have a four-leaf clover).

What should 2024's lucky leprechaun be made out of? We've gotta keep up the tradition, after all!

Who ordered carrots? 🥕🥕🥕

This little 'load of carrots' snack has aaaalllllll the good stuff. The little truck is made from two pieces of toast smothered in Nutella. The tires are Oreos, and the headlight/taillight are Smarties. I used a carrot-shaped cookie cutter for the carrots, and they're made from cantaloupe with kiwi carrot tops. The tiny driver is a bento pick, so that part isn't edible but becomes a handy little fork!

This little plate makes an easy breakfast or after-school snack. You'll definitely want to save this post for easy reference if it's one you plan to try before Easter!

Who's up for some chick-uterie?! 🐣🥕🐣

I don't know about you guys, but this may be a new favorite of mine! The best part (other than how cute it is and also how tasty it is) is how simple it was to make.

I dug through my mini Christmas cookie cutters and found a little gingerbread man (I saw this idea recently from ) to make into our chicks, and also a Christmas light shape that looked perfect to be a little carrot!

Start by laying out an assortment of your favorite crackers, and then use a tiny gingerbread man shape to cut out your baby chicks... you don't need the legs, just the top half! We used cheddar cheese for ours, although any type of yellow or orange cheese would work well. To make the cracked egg, we used a thin slice of apple, cut the skin off the outer edges, and then cut the top edge in a zig-zag with a paring knife. A thin slice of white cheese would work well as the egg also... I like to use what I already have on hand, which is why ours is made from apple. To complete our chicks, I cut a tiny triangle from a sliced carrot and added two round black cake decorating sprinkles for eyes.

To make the little carrots, I used the Christmas light shape to cut into a thin slice of cheddar cheese, then added a few thin slices of cucumber skin to become the carrot tops. I added a few orange cake decorating sprinkles to the carrot as well to give them a little depth and make them extra fun. I just noticed now that one rolled off mid-photoshoot... if you spot it, leave me a 🥕🥕🥕 in the comments!

I really am ridiculously excited about how adorably this turned out, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, too! If you were happy to see this pop up on your feed today, please show it some love by leaving a comment, hitting that "like" button, saving it for later, or sharing it with a friend... engaging with my posts is totally free, folks, but it's by far the best way to support my page if you love Cute Food For Kids!

Did somebunny request this fruity cutie?!

A mixed fruit plate is an easy, healthy way to add some fun and color to your child's day, and today's bunny made of pineapple, kiwi, and clementine segments really is all those things!

I used a bunny head cookie cutter to cut out the bunny's head and ears, and then I cut out a second one and turned it upside down to be the body and legs. Cutting out a third piece and then slicing off both ears, I used one "ear" as each of the bunny's arms. Y'all know how much I love repurposing cookie cutters to become things they were never meant for, so this one was reeeeeeally fun to experiment with! 🐰

Each tiny carrot is a clementine segment (any type of orange or mandarin would work, or even a slice of peach or nectarine) and then I added some tiny slices of kiwi to the ends as the carrot tops.

In addition to the fruit, I added candy eyeballs to my bunny, cake decorating sprinkles for the whiskers and mouth, and an Easter-egg-shaped larger sprinkle to become the nose. You can likely find sprinkles that work for all of these things in a mix you already own, or use blueberries for the eyes, a raspberry for the nose, and pretzels or thin slices of anything you like as the whiskers. It's all about being creative and making it work for your family!

What do you think of this bunny plate? Is he cute enough to earn a ♥️♥️♥️ from you today?
