Episode 11 of The Best AF Drinks 🕵🏽♀️🍸 | 📍Milky Way Cocktail Bar in Montreal, QC 🇨🇦
If you're headed to Montreal, this place is a must! Everything was perfect - from the décor and drinks to the food from @fugazzipizza. They have fun 0% cocktails on the menu, but they're also willing to create any type of drink based on your preferences.✨
The staff were also incredible! They offered us shots and even included me in the fun with a custom NA shot 😍 a HUGE shoutout to Mary - thank you for making our night so special 💜🥂
Weekend brunch might feel intimidating if you're not drinking alcohol because these days it can be synonymous with bottomless mimosas. 🥂🍾
Here are some tips if you're planning a group brunch and don't feel like drinking alcohol:
1️⃣ Pick a spot that you're excited about. I don't know about you, but I'm definitely one of those people that loves checking the menu before I get to the place 😂.There are so many reasons to get excited - the food, the vibe, etc. 🙏🏼🍳
2️⃣ Get a drink - just because everyone else might be ordering bottomless mimosas, doesn't mean you can't order something to enjoy (there's also nothing wrong with just drinking water/coffee) ☕. If nothing catches your eye on the menu, you could always order an orange juice + soda in a champagne flute, or a virgin caesar.
3️⃣ Take part in the photos - if the group wants to do a fun boomerang or photo op with everyone's drinks, join in on the fun if you want! Just because your drink might be slightly different, doesn't mean you should be left out. If they ask you to take the picture, tell them you'd like to be in it and suggest that one of the restaurant staff take it instead. 📸🥂🍻
3️⃣ Remember why you're there - whether you're with your family or catching up on last night with your girlfriends, chances are you're there for the company (or maybe just the food). Remind yourself what's important and why you're really there if you feel uncomfortable.😉✨
Thinking about cutting out alcohol or drinking in moderation, but nervous how that choice might change your life? What if it doesn't change? What if the best parts of your life stay the same?
This is what my life looked like the last two years:
▪️COVID lockdown 😷
▪️Got a dog 🐶
▪️1 bachelorette party 🎊
▪️1 bridal shower 🚿
▪️Quite a few mental breakdowns & anxiety attacks 😅
▪️4 weddings 👰
▪️7 road trips 🚘
▪️2 vacations ✈️
▪️Went back to therapy 💕
▪️Drinks, drinks, drinks 🍸
▪️Bar hopping & patio hangouts 👯♀️
▪️Started a new job 💼
▪️Slept in a lot 💤
▪️Had a hard time being consistent with workouts 🏋🏽♀️
I did all of that sober...not too different from my life when I was drinking alcohol. ✌🏼
Just like with any choice, YOU get to decide how much of that changes your life. It doesn't always have to become who you are/define you. Don't let other people tell you how to live your life. Just because you might choose to do something that's different, doesn't mean it's a bad thing. 💜🥂✨
Pro tip: feeling fancy? Ask for a wine glass to go with your kombucha. 10/10 recommend 🍷💜✨
"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are." - John Wooden ✨💜✌🏼
