Decolonizating Education Through Land-Based Learning:

The growing season is well under way, and we're getting ready to plant again! It's time for us to start planning for the winter.

We're aiming for Saturday, August 19th, to put the greenhouse up. We also need to build an insulated production area to get all the produce ready.

The space will also be used as a land-based learning area for Ohahase Education Centre, our local secondary school in Tyendinaga, beginning in September. We will need the production area ready and hydro installed to the building and greenhouse.

It is a lot to accomplish by the beginning of winter, but we believe it can be done! This project will help with the decolonization of education.

You can make donations through the link:
https://www.thecrediblemohawk.com/kfsp

Or by e-transfer to [email protected]

We also received a $5,000 grant from this year and $10,000 from last year.

Within the next two weeks, another two gardens will be installed for a total of 15. So far, we have been able to donate to community members on and off territory, Tyendinaga Elders Lodge, and the Community Food Resource Centre.

Remember the thousands of reasons why Canada Day is a day of mourning for many.

Residential schools, 60s scoop, child welfare, millennial scoop, MMIWG, Starlight Tours, land grabbing, broken treaties, lies, betrayal, and the list goes on.

If you do celebrate, that's fine. Also, try to spread awareness of the truth about Canada so reconciliation can begin.

LEGEND ALERT: As mentioned in our post announcing the event, the iconic and legendary Tommy Dreamer is our first guest announcement for our Legends of Wrestling meet and greet as part of Chinlock for Charity, presented by Cigar Chief.

Dreamer has a long history in pro wrestling, plus a lifetime as a fan. After making his name as the face of Extreme Championship Wrestling, the hardcore legend joined WWE in both an administration and talent capacity. He also founded his own wrestling company, House of Hardcore, and continues to contribute to the industry with IMPACT Wrestling.

No stranger to Kingston or Chinlock, Dreamer returns Sept. 16 to Chinlock For Charity, in support of Indigenous charities and organizations in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.

Our next legend announcement will come soon, plus some of the matches planned for the afternoon's wrestling show at the Lacrosse Box.

Tickets and VIP packages will be revealed soon, and go on sale in July.

Welcome us in welcoming back Tommy!
