Spoons are a hit-making machine with songs like Nova Heart, Tell No Lies, Old Emotions, Romantic Traffic etc. Their history with Strange Advance goes back to the mid 80’s when the 2 bands toured together and continues to this day with Strange Advance contributing their version of Nova Heart to "Echoes", a new CD of various artists covering Spoons songs.

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Doug Caldwell this past weekend. Doug was an integral member of the Sparks Music’s family for many years. He was a kind, thoughtful person whose passion for music was undeniable. He will be greatly missed.

Celebrating 40 years in the music industry, Burlington natives Spoons will take the main stage, Thursday June 15. The band helped define the sound of Pop and New Wave in the 80's, with hits like Nova Heart, Romantic Traffic, Old Emotions and Tell No Lies. Their album 'Aria & Symphonies' was names one of the 20 most influential albums of the 80s. And with the retro 80s movement showing no signs of slowing down, neither do the SPOONS!

The Repeatable album, released earlier this year to commemorate our 40th anniversary, is a compilation of the songs as you know them. Echoes is a collection of our songs re-recorded by artists from around the world; from England and the USA to Australia and Canada. Whether stripped down or pushed to the limit, these amazing artists perform our songs in their own undeniably personal, and sometimes very unexpected, way.
Proceeds from the sale of Echoes will go to the Unison Fund, in support of the severely affected music industry in Canada, so incredibly hit hard by Covid.
