Debuting at : The Art of Adventure. This is a story about the early adventures of famed wildlife artist Robert Bateman and biologist Bristol Foster as they made their way around the world in a Land Rover circa 1957.

It was a thrill to score this doc with the great and the mighty . And so amazing to be in creative collaboration with visionary director/producer .

The CASMA awards put on by the guild was awesome! My 2025 is has been pretty lowkey as I’ve been up to my eye balls with projects, but a night out to catch up with friends and colleagues in the composing space is so great. These really are “my people” and love being around these smart, hilarious, creative nerds.

Joel is a guitarist, producer, and composer based in Toronto, and a unique voice in the Canadian and American music scenes.

As an in-demand freelance musician, Joel has collaborated with a diverse range of artists. Recent credits include Birds of Chicago, Amelia Curran, Matthew and Jill Barber, Great Lake Swimmers, Royal Wood, Jessica Mitchell, Aviva Chernick, Andrea Koziol, Dione Taylor, Lydia Persaud, Jadea Kelly, and many others. He is thrilled to sometimes play mandolins and guitars in the original hit musical, Come From Away.

Joel has produced records for Dione Taylor, Lindsay Foote, Aviva Chernick, Gathering Sparks, and Jadea Kelly.

Joel’s contributions on guitars, mandolins, slide, and banjo can be heard on several film and television scores by Ari Posner, Amin Bhatia, Stacey Hersh, Rob Carli, and Jim McGrath.

Joel studied jazz performance at Humber College and has trained with some of Canada’s most celebrated jazz players including Don Thompson, Ted Quinlan, David Occhipinti, Jerry Granelli, and Don Palmer.
