With my darling friend Jann Coppen for the sumptuous dinner / book launch for Salah Bashir’s wonderful memoir, First To Leave The Party, last night. Kept my inner fan boy in check when I spotted Margaret Atwood a couple tables over. Tynomi Banks hosted, performances by Lorraine Segato and my very funny sister wife, Carole Pope. Salah’s book was a godsend last week when I was in Doug Ford hospital hell, waiting 10 hours before getting the CT scan I was meant to get, ahead of my appendectomy (yes I packed the book, I knew what fresh hell I was walking into) so run don’t walk, this memoir is delicious.
