O Toronto Caribbean Carnival é um dos maiores eventos realizados na cidade de Toronto, atraindo perto de dois milhões de pessoas todos os anos. É um festival repleto de música, dança, cor, alegria e cultura, realizado pela primeira vez em 1967 sob o nome de Caribana. Inspirado num evento semelhante de Trindade e Tobago, este carnaval artístico dura cerca de três semanas e reflete as diversas tradições expressivas das Caraíbas. Reúne uma vasta gama de canções e música instrumental indígena, danças, bailes de máscaras, tradições orais e uma grande variedade de comidas.
The Toronto Caribbean Carnival is one of the largest events held in the city of Toronto, attracting nearly two million people every year. It’s a festival filled with music, dance, color, joy, and culture, first held in 1967 under the name Caribana. Inspired by a similar event in TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, this artistic carnival lasts about three weeks and reflects the diverse expressive traditions of the Caribbean. It brings together a wide range of indigenous songs and instrumental music, dances, masquerade balls, oral traditions, and a great variety of foods.

Irwin Karnick is an internationally renowned ecologist, photographer, and filmmaker with a career spanning six decades. A keen observer, he has traveled the world, capturing through his lens the faces, landscapes, and dwellings that showcase the diversity of various countries. During one of these visits, he fell in love with Portugal and has since undertaken numerous projects in the country, including collaborations with the Portuguese government.

We made a quick visit to the town of Minesing, in the province of Ontario, to see the facilities at Azores Stables, a business run by Marco and Pam Esteves, a couple who share a true passion for these fantastic animals. In addition to breeding and selling horses, Azores Stables offers training and education for both people and animals, covering the best riding techniques. The training covers technical aspects such as communication, balance, flexibility, athletic ability, and the best ways to ride.
