Stephen Dooley became the second executive director of the SFU Surrey campus in November 2013. Prior to joining the team at SFU, he worked at Kwantlen Polytechnic University for more than 20 years, where he was the founder of the Centre For Interdisciplinary Research: Community Learning and Engagement (CIR:CLE). Steve has a strong commitment to the development of community-campus partnerships, based on the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Steve is past chair of the Surrey Board of Trade, a current Director of the Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association, and a current board member of Sources and IEC BC. Steve also currently sits on the City of Surrey’s Public Safety Committee and is past chair of the City of Surrey’s Poverty Reduction Coalition.

Craig Daniell joined the British Columbia SPCA in November 2002 as General Manager of Cruelty Investigations and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Society in April 2003. Before joining the BC SPCA, Craig served as Director of Investigations at the Ontario SPCA for three years. Prior to coming to Canada, Craig earned a law degree in his native South Africa and worked in a corporate law firm. He then joined the diplomatic service, serving as a legal and policy advisor for the Department of Foreign Affairs in Pretoria before accepting a post to the United Nations in New York, where he worked on matters related to the law of the sea; animal protection; the Security Council and international law.

Kevin Falcon was born and raised on the North Shore and he graduated from SFU and the Real Estate Program at UBC. Falcon was elected MLA for Surrey-Cloverdale in 2001, a position he held until 2013. Elected to the Legislature once again, Falcon now serves as the MLA for Vancouver-Quilchena and as the Leader of the Official Opposition.

When first elected, Falcon was one of the youngest MLAs to serve in cabinet. Twelve years in the cabinet, Falcon held senior Cabinet roles including Deputy Premier, Minister of Finance, Minister of Transportation, Minister of Health and Minister of Deregulation.

After leaving politics, Falcon took on the role as Executive Vice President for Anthem Capital and served on the boards of several non-profits including Canuck Place, Lions Gate Hospital Foundation and the Street-to-home Foundation, an organization working to house the homeless on the Downtown Eastside.

He lives in North Vancouver with wife Jessica and two daughters, Josephine and Rose, and their cats Lucky and Feather.
