A few years ago I did a series for Aussie and South American parrots. Both the Galah and the Sun Conure became regular colourways. I am trying to migrate much of my content to Bluesky in the wake of Meta abandoning common respect and decency. I’d appreciate, if you are a user, you’d follow me there. That’s a rap! Two nights of singing jazzy holiday tunes with a wonderful group of singers. Both shows were sold out! It’s very uplifting to “Sing for the Joy of It!”

I’ll be a little quiet over the next few weeks as I complete my Bionification (I just made that up, but I figure I’ll be like ) and have my other hip replaced on Thursday. After that… look out 💃🏻
You won’t see me at this year unfortunately.
Any orders placed will be completed in as timely as manner as possible. I’ll make sure to communicate, but I’m hoping to be back at work by early November.

See ya in the other side. Maybe I’ll share my X-rays once the titanium is in place!

This is so cool! A customer used 2 skeins of DK BlueJay to crochet a planned pooling project. She did explain it to me, but it’s easier if you search up a video by Marley Bird. She explains as follows:
“Planned Pooling Made Easy with Moss Stitch. Planned pooling is a crochet color work technique that looks so impressive. People are often a little bit intimidated to try it. However, with just a few simple tricks, crochet planned pooling doesn’t have to be hard at all. In fact, just using the right stitches helps a lot. And moss stitch is the place to start.”
Just search “planned pooling crochet” and it’s sure to pop up.

This beautiful triangular shawl is created using so no need to strand colours. The gentle waves will be knit in Ruby-throated Hummingbird on a sea of Light Moss. I think this will be really special. The pattern is only available in Woolly’s book and I still have a few copies on my website.

Let’s all do our part. Light pollution confuses migratory birds. I wish the skyscrapers weren’t all built in their flight paths (and lit up all night) but I can’t do much about that. Where we can all help is limiting outdoor lights, especially during migration. Consider motion sensors or low wattage if you must have a light on. Even indoor lights cause problems, so please consider drawing curtains and turning off lights you aren’t using. Thanks for coming to my TED talk 🙏💕

We had a busy but fun day today! Lots of questions about Woolly Wormhead’s Short-Row Colourwork Knitting books. I know I sold out quickly Saturday, but I kept a few back for Sunday shoppers. If you’re interested, come early!!

Browse through Songbird Yarn & Fibres at Almonte Fibrefest until 5pm today and from 10am to 4pm tomorrow!

Admission is $5. Vendors at the Community Centre and exhibits at the MVTM.
