The Marudi Forest Conservation project stands as a beacon of hope, marking a historic milestone as the first of its kind in Sarawak and Malaysia. This pioneering endeavor, a brainchild of SaraCarbon Berhad, transcends mere environmental preservation; it embodies a profound commitment to safeguarding the region's invaluable biodiversity. The project's strength lies not only in its innovative approach but also in its strategic partnership with the Institute Borneo Studies (IBS), ensuring a robust foundation of scientific research and expertise. Crucially, the heart of this initiative beats within the local community, with over 55 villagers actively engaged. The study process demonstrating that meaningful conservation is rooted in collaboration and the empowerment of those who call the forest home.
