All set up to record some classical music. Ventus Machina will record a quintet for an immersive display by Sackville Festival of Early Music coming soon. Special thanks to Mount Allison Department of Music for the use of Brunton Auditorium and the speaker setup that will be used by the festival. Sky Sound is tech’ing the display and this recording. More details coming soon!

Celebrating a new track by Neal McEachern: My Beacon, memorial to flight 111 that crashed into Peggy’s Cove 25 years ago. It was so great to produce and perform on this track and I can’t wait for it to fly into the world!

This morning I framed a window in the studio! A bit of a challenge because it’s angled vertically to prevent reflection. I’m really happy. It adds to the barn aesthetic.

Third and final(?) full wall covering, the heavy af 5/8” drywall boards. I’m glad it photographs well because there is a true DIY element going on here. Positive news: it is staying up! Slow steady progress here on the studio building front. Just about time to get messy with mud and paint.

Entrance to the Emerald City or to Sky Sound Studios? Early followers will always know that the studio wears green underwear. It has been quite a week installing SONOPAN (still not sponsored) on the interior and exterior walls of the two rooms. We are getting very close to acceptable sound levels from outside (the big challenge is the large trucks that roll by the highway 50m away), with drywall and ceiling insulation still to come. It’s getting close! Starting to feel like Halloween opening target is still realistic! 🎃🎃🎃
