Amazing full-circle moment as I was brought in by Robertson Mfg. Ltd. to create a product video. This was the first job I ever had and worked there on and off for almost 10 years. Thanks to Fresh Inc. as well for the help.

Of the 4 short vids I worked with Lostrich on, gotta say this one is probably my Fave...even though I did fly the drone into the top of the culvert 🤦 (which is what's happening in the last shot)

An informative introduction to how Carbon works on our planet and how the maintenance of Grasslands can actually do more to reduce our carbon footprint than a lot of other measures, even more than the ever-so-popular planting of trees. Grasslands actually sequester 4x(!) more carbon per acre than forests do!

This was one of 12 "outcomes" created for an economic game that was developed for the Tulo Centre of Indigenous Economics. Along with graphics from Neil Manuel Creative, the game gave you scenarios to choose from and then an outcome based on your choices. Choose very poorly and a global pandemic is the result.

Client: Tulo Centre
Creative Direction/Production Scheduling: Joy Factory Films Inc

Today is a bittersweet day of transition.
…kinda seems like that’s the motto of 2020…PIVOT!!!!

For starters, Joy Factory has moved out of the 12 Ave location as the studio space wasn’t necessary any longer and will return to being a home-based business. More importantly, I’ve changed the structure of the company to be fully contract based, so projects will be booked with the talented local filmmakers and editors on a per-project basis as JF becomes more of a “film agency” for lack of a better term.

As this change comes into effect, I want to take a moment to thank everyone who’s ever worked for Joy Factory and the little elements they all brought to the table that made it better.

Calvin, who’s talent, attention to detail and consistency helped the company turn the corner and become a real success. Without him moving to Kamloops back in 2013 the company probably folds at that time.

Neil, the ultimate glue guy. I’m pretty sure everyone who has ever worked at Joy Factory would view him as one of their best friends. A jack of all trades, he and Calvin are the reason animation became possible, and I look forward to seeing where he takes his immense talent.

Josef, the whiz “kid”. When you’re a boss there are people you just wish you could clone and make 10 of, and Jo is that guy. Talented at everything he ever takes on, he not only pushed forward the quality of work, but pushed me to be a better person. I respect this man incredibly.

Hope, who’s positivity and ability to plan brought a much needed skillset to the team.

Liam, who was always looking more and more into details of cameras and what we could get out of them. He knows his way around equipment better than anyone I’ve worked with.

Sam & Sophia, who’s time at JF may have been brief, but they embraced the culture and fit in with our quirky crew.

Finally, last and never least, Joey. The company is called Joy Factory because of him. His ability to naturally capture emotion and feeling is what JF embodies
