PICKUP TRUCK STOLEN FROM PARIS LOCATED IN BRANTFORD

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) - On Monday, November 11, 2024, at approximately 5:58 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from a Whitlaw Way address in the County of Brant.

It was determined that some time between 6:00 p.m. on Sunday November 10, 2024 and 5:45 a.m. on Monday November 11, 2024, unknowns attended the address and removed a blue-coloured, 2006 GMC Sierra pickup truck from the property. The vehicle was later located by Brantford Police Service parked on a residential street in the City of Brantford.

The investigation is ongoing and police are requesting the assistance of the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous online message at www.crimestoppersbb.com where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2000.

PUBLIC NOTICE: 🚂🎁 The CPKC Holiday Train returns and once again is making a stop in Ayr at the Inglis Street Crossing on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 5:20 p.m. American Authors and KT Tunstall will be on board and ready to entertain us and spread Christmas cheer.

The train will also roll into Woodstock on Sunday, November 24, at around 6:40 p.m. Visit www.cityofwoodstock.ca/holidaytrain for details!

John Francis CURTIN is Wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant

(HAMILTON, ON) - The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is requesting the public's assistance in locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant as a result of a breach of his Statutory Release.

John Francis CURTIN is described as a 69 year old Caucasian male, 5'10'' (178cm), 150 lbs (68 kgs) with long grey/brown hair and hazel eyes and usually has facial hair (grey beard). CURTAIN has a noticeable Scar on his nose.

John Francis CURTIN is serving a 5 year, 1 month and 20 day sentence for;

Armed Robbery x2
Robbery x2
Possess Weapon or Imitation
Break and Enter x4
Theft Over x4
Theft Under x2
Used Forged Document
Forgery
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Impaired Driving


The offender is known to frequent Hamilton, Brantford, Toronto, Thunder Bay Ontario, as well as Edmonton Alberta and Winnipeg Manitoba.

COLLISION IN BRANT COUNTY SENDS THREE PEOPLE TO HOSPITAL

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) - Three people have been taken to hospital following a collision between a passenger vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle in the County of Brant.

On Monday November 18, 2024, at approximately 7:52 a.m., members from the Brant County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with assistance from the County of Brant Fire Department and Brant-Brantford Paramedic Services responded to a collision at the intersection of Ayr Road and Watts Pond Road in the County of Brant.

Three individuals were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while one occupant was uninjured.

Ayr Road is currently closed between Keg Lane and Paris Plains Church Road and Watts Pond Road is closed between Robbins Road and Nith Road. Roads are expected to reopen shortly.

Location: Intersection of Silver Street and Grand River Street North
Work Dates: Monday, September 9, to Friday, December 6, 2024, weather dependent
Work Performed by: Navacon Construction Inc. for County of Brant
Reason: Full road reconstruction including replacement of watermain, extension of sanitary sewer, and road resurfacing
Note:
🚧 Local access will be maintained
🚧 Emergency access will be maintained
🚧 Signage will be posted, and a flag person will direct traffic when required
🚧 Grand River Street North northbound and southbound lanes will remain open in both directions.
