The comet NEOWISE is seen in the night sky over the Restigouche River in New Brunswick. Only recently discovered on March 27th by a NASA space telescope, you can catch a glimpse of the comet with the naked eye most nights in the northwest portion of the sky just after sunset. Do it quickly in the next few days though, once it fades away astronomers calculate it won’t be visible for another 6,800 years.

Photos from today's march in downtown Ottawa. Thousands of people peacefully took to the streets in solidarity against anti-black racism and police brutality. Ottawa Police did help block traffic but mostly stayed back and did not join or interfere with the demonstration.

More photos from last week's march in downtown Ottawa in support of the Wet'suwet'en people. Today there are more protests marching through downtown as the OPP began making arrests at a rail blockade near Belleville, Ontario this morning. Protests there by the Mohawks of Tyendinage have crippled passenger and freight train traffic for more than two weeks in solidarity with anti-pipeline protests in northern B.C.

Members of the group Extinction Rebellion organized a gathering to close the Laurier Avenue Bridge on Friday. It was part of a series of road closures and acts of civil disobedience done by the group this year around the world to protest government inaction on climate change.

Police rerouted traffic around the bridge and the protest ended peacefully with no incidents.
