The final Junior event of the OVGA 2024 season is underway. The “OVGA Cup”, presented by Ottawa Tourism, represents the regions tour championship and will decide the final order-of-merit standings in the 8 junior divisions. For the first time, this event has been extended to a 3-round championship with a cut after 36-holes making it eligible for WAGR points.

Course conditions at Hylands on day 1 were excellent and the scores showed it. Ceilidh Spare (Rideau View) carded the low round of the day shooting an impressive 4-under-par 68 that puts her 2-stokes ahead of Amelia McFarlane (Ottawa Hunt). On the boys side, there were 4 juniors under par after day 1, led by Carter O’Brien (Prescott) with a steady 69 that puts him 1-up on Zack Moore (Lombard Glen) and 2-up over Jayson Ross (Royal Ottawa) and Aidan Reil (Camelot) as they head into round 2 at Eagle Creek today.
