is a short documentary follows the story of Acorn Hamilton , a local tenant union vs DiCenzo Homes a local real estate developer, property management team and law firm.

Been working on this project for quite a while and I'm very excited to be able to say that the full version is out! There's so much to tell you all about project but instead of rambling on and on now, I think you should just watch the video and THEN read the description here or on YouTube for more information.

In the coming days I will be posting individual videos of the interviews I did with some of the residents at 3 of the surveys. The people are the heart of this story and I urge you to watch them all and see how different but similar they all are.

There will be links to CBC, CHCH and Hamilton Spectator articles with more information as well as links to ACORN Canada and petitions to help increase tenant rights. You can also reach out to me and I can try and guide you in the right direction.

DiCenzo Homes is throwing 100+ individuals and families into panic at the thought of losing their affordable homes. Hamilton, Ontario is in a housing crisis. Vulnerable residents and families with children face becoming homeless. ACORN is calling on DiCenzo Homes to stop all effort to displace tenants at 1444 Upper Ottawa Street, 88 Tunbridge Crescent, 20-82 Woodman Drive North and 20 Anna Capri Drive.

Seniors, people with disabilities and families with special needs children, all of whom have been living in the community and relying on this housing for stability.

The issue is that they are trying to liquidate the rental property management side of the company. In the case of, ACORN DiCenzo tenant union they have elected to organize as not a one survey tenant union or the two survey tenant union, but a three survey tenant union.

You'll hear about 80 million different definitions hear on the news, you'll probably most often hear tenant advocates or concerned citizens or anti-poverty group. The most important thing that ACORN is, is a union of low income folks. We're able to do what we do because we are independent and because we are focused on collectively organizing to fight for change.
