A balding white haired man walked into a jewelry store...

A balding, white haired man walked into a jewelry store Friday evening with a beautiful, much younger lady at his side. He told the jeweler he was looking for a special ring for his girlfriend.

The jeweler looked through his stock and brought out a 💰$5,000 ring.

The man said, "No, I'd like to see something more special."

At that statement, the jeweler went to his special stock and brought
another ring over. "Here's a stunning ring at only 💰$40,000" the jeweler said.

The lady's eyes sparkled and her whole body trembled with excitement.

The old man seeing this said, "We'll take it."

The jeweler asked how payment would be made and the man stated,
"By check. I know you need to make sure my check is good, so I'll write it now and you can call the bank Monday to verify the funds, then I'll pick the ring up Monday afternoon."

On Monday morning, the jeweler angrily phoned the old man and said "Sir...there's no money in your account."

''I know," said the old man..."But let me tell you about my weekend."

One day, a jewelry store owner decided to take two of his employees out for lunch. 🥪
They find a table at the restaurant, on which sits an old lamp.

The owner decides to rub the lamp, and immediately a genie appears. 🧞‍♂️

With its eerie voice, it says, “Who is it who has summoned me? For he can have three wishes.” The genie looks at the three guys and continues, “Since there are three of you here, I will grant you one wish each.”

The first employee tells the genie, “I wish to be on a Hawaii beach surrounded by beautiful women.” 🍹🍹

With a snap of his fingers, the genie makes the employee disappear.

The second employee is ecstatic at the moment, and he tells the genie, “I wish I had all the wealth in the world and the most beautiful mansion in all of America.” 🤑🤑

Once again, the genie snaps his fingers, and the second employee is gone.

It was estimated to cost between 💲200-250 million back in 2011, but estimates today are as high as 💲350 million.

This diamond was the inspiration for the Titanic‘s Heart of the Ocean necklace in the 1997 film.

One of the famous blue Golconda diamonds (so coloured because of trace amounts of boron in the gem), the Hope Diamond was found in 1666 and clocks in at 45.5 carats.

It started life as a 112-carat diamond, bought by King Louis XIV of France, but has changed hands and been recut several times in the more-than 350 years since.

Its history is much debated due to a number of periods during which it cannot be traced, sometimes due to its having been stolen.

One famous owner of the stone was American jeweller Harry Winston. It has now been at the Smithsonian Museum since 1958.

Fine Jewelry and Costume Jewelry!

How can you tell one apart from the other? 🤷
Is it the price or the materiel?

Well, costume jewelry is also known as fashion jewelry (trinkets, imitated jewelry, junk jewelry, fallalery, or fake jewelry)

The term costume jewelry comes from the 20th century and is used to reflect the use of the word costume, which came to be by ladies buying jewelry to match/go with specific costumes (outfits)

This Kind of jewelry refers to the class of jewelry that is often made of base metals like copper, brass, or even aluminum and they also feature simulated stones like lucite and rhinestones.

As you shop for jewelry, you need to keep in mind that their is a huge difference between fine jewelry and costume jewelry.

Costume jewelry is inexpensive and often made of low grade quality materiel. Often designs are make out of copies of the more expensive jewelry designs.

✨💎Fine jewelry on the other hand , cost a bit more and this is usually because it is made of valuable metals such as sterling silver, stainless steel, gold , and platinum.

They are usually set on precious, natural gemstones that are more valuable.

❓❓Why does costume jewelry have a bad rep??

Well, costume jewelry is not durable and if the jewelry breaks, it cannot be repaired or fixed in any way. It is impossible to solder once it breaks. And this is because of the low quality materials and the use of heat when trying to solder the jewelry back together will cause either blackening or will evaporate the thin gold coat that makes up most of the costume jewelry.

In the case that fine jewelry breaks, it can be soldered back to shape easily and the best thing, is that it can be repaired numerous times because it's made of genuine high quality metals that really lasts long.
